I think that religion, particularly the sort of faux religious, lunatic performance we saw Trump engaging with yesterday, needs to kept right out of politics. It just fuels rabid, "my god's right, yours is not a real god"-based, world-threatening lunacy. Fat chance.
I don't mean to cause any offence to gentle religious people whose religions, I am sure, provide a very sound basis for their philosophy and way of life.

Unfortunately the word seems to have gone out of fashion (maybe replaced by populist) but demagogue seems to sum up Trump perfectly.
