Awful news. As a kid, he was my favourite player pre Mariner. I remember him failing a late fitness test on the day of the FA Cup final and what a massive blow that would be for our chances.
Not that I don't believe you but you write as if we all have access to what you're seeing. Nothing on TWTD or a quick google search, is this on twitter?
Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Phil put the story up that Trevor had passed but it's since been taken down. Hopefully it's not true.
Remember his 4 goals against West Brom when we beat them 7-0 at Portman Road. It was Mariner’s home debut that day as well. As has already been said,Trevor was a vastly underated player for Town. RIP Trevor.

Oh my word - so sorry to read this and thoughts are with his family.
Tremendous player. Brilliant with his head (first player i remember that seemed like he could 'hang in the air'. But then he was very, very good with his feet. Scorer of some brilliant goals. My highlight memory is watching him score all four in our 4 - 0 demolition of Lazio.

I was there that day. I rarely missed a home game between 1974 and 1982 but that is one of probably ten games that I can remember as if it was yesterday.

Best header of the ball to play for Town, and probably England. RIP Trevor.

1977 my first away game was V Norwich when Trevor scored the only goal. I was 13 and my father got 2x tickets in the home end through Watneys Red barrel , wore my blue and white bar scarf and can remember dad getting loads of grief. After that I was always Whymark in the playground. Great servant to the club. massivly underated and all round good bloke. Thanks for the memories...

oh rubbish start to the day; he was my favourite player as a kid, the one I pretended to be on the school pitch - to this day it bugs me that my dad wouldn't let me go alone (well I'd have been meeting friends) to Mariner's first home game, his excuse part-being 'oh West Brom are our bogie team' - 7-0 later and four of them from Whymark... grrr

My favourite player as a youngster as well. His time at Ipswich was definitely cut short by injuries from 1997 onwards when he was only starting to hit his peak years. Fantastic all round player, remembered for his heading but he was strong in all areas. Great partnership with David Johnson (1). Like his mate Clive Woods, Norfolk boys done good.

I have some terrific memories of him as a kid. WBA 7-0, Lazio 4-0 being the two most obvious ones. One of my boyhood heroes. Never met him but he always gave the impression of being a really nice guy, as well as a very talented footballer. RIP Big Man
