Mark Robins sacked from Coventry on 11:20 - Nov 7 with 4656 views | JakeITFC | Never want to pass judgement on these things too much (as externally we don't see the same things as the supporters do every week etc.) but that seems like a really, really harsh decision. You'd probably say he's done a top 5 job in the country in his time there, maybe higher.
Mark Robins sacked from Coventry on 11:22 - Nov 7 with 4639 views | gainsboroughblue | That's a real surprise. Ok, they haven't started well and lost last night but I thought Robins had a hell of a lot of credit in the bank. I certainly hadn't noticed any rumblings of discontent from the Cov fans about him.

Mark Robins sacked from Coventry on 11:25 - Nov 7 with 4620 views | catch74 | Think the Gyokeres sale would have impacted any club. €21m plus 10% sell on seems a bargain knowing the struggles we had to land an extra forward. Not sure how they’ve used the money from the sale.

Does Mckenna come into that bracket then ? Would you sack Mckenna ?
Mark Robins sacked from Coventry on 11:31 - Nov 7 with 4523 views | LankHenners | Cov fans are unhappy, to completely understate it. Lots of them blaming the ownership saying it's ego driven from the newish chairman who didn't like Robins being the main man at the club. Tough to keep competing towards the top end of the Championship when you lose your better players and try to integrate new ones.

It's also 2 seasons on the spin where they have had a dreadful start to the season, making a promotion challenge a longshot even at this early stage of the season. It's a harsh sacking in some ways, but you can see why the decision has been made.

Mark Robins sacked from Coventry on 11:37 - Nov 7 with 4435 views | ArnoldMoorhen | Have you seen the Championship table? Only 3 points between 12th and the top relegation place, 22nd, and Coventry are one of six teams level on 15 points and are only out of the relegation zone on goal difference. He might be a scummer, but he is a very, very good manager, who plays bright, attacking football. He could wait for Rooney to get sacked by Plymouth, I suppose. Birmingham would have been a good fit, but they have started the season well under Chris Davies. Or would be a very good option for Wrexham when Deadpool gets bored of Phil Parkinson, as the media hoopla won't faze him. I want "old skool" points for "media hoopla".

Comparing apples to oranges. Robins is in the same division as he has been for last 4 years and some could argue club has not progressed in fact gone backwards since playoff final in 2022, while McKenna has achieved two promotions and the club has continued to progress over the tenure of his management.

Has it gone backwards really? I don’t pay much attention to them so you may be right. My perception though is a club that was on its knees, no ground of its own, in the lower divisions, recovering. Good crowds Ricoh Arena back (I can’t remember it’s new name), promotion to the Championship, established in the Championship, close to promotion in 2023, Cup Semi Final (robbed) in 2024. Big picture tells me he’s done a great job and at the very least deserved until this time next year. But hey, that’s football in this day and age.

Hard to argue he hasn't done a great job there over the longer term (from L2 to the Championship) but the last 18 months or so they have gone backwards. They may have sold two big players in Gyokeres and Hamer at the end of 22/23 but they've spent loads of money and would be expecting to be in the top 6. Until the final knockings last year they weren't really even close to the conversation after a poor start. And they've started this season poorly too after a summer where they kept their best player (Sheaf) and strengthened again. I think it is a bit harsh but it's not a ridiculous decision.

Surprised to see him on the managerial merry-go-round. 17th at the moment doesn't seem a helter skelter fall when you look at the small points gap. Critics circulating around Rooney who'll do well to dodge 'em for much longer. I wonder how much longer the candy floss will last at Wrexham if they begin to melt away?

I wouldn't, even if we were relegated, unless there is a huge breakdown in relationships and morale. I would keep him to go again in the Championship. It has been the best model for Clubs trying to bridge the gap and establish themselves in the Prem. Plus, realistically, we came 2nd in the Championship last year, so 19th is par for this year. We have spent a lot of money, but our total outlay on our squad over the last 5 years is a fraction of that spent by those we are competing with. And they all had Category One Academies to draw on, as well. McKenna has earned a grace period of the whole of this season, and half of next season, in my opinion. We have achieved promotion ahead of the planned schedule, which he shouldn't be punished for, and we are playing bright, attractive attacking football against long-established Prem teams. He could have jumped in the Summer (and still could, let's be honest!) and we all need to do the same as he has and buy into a long-term project even if we are relegated this season.

That's spot on. Just think they should give him more time to turn it around. Don't see how they will get a better manager than the one they had in Robins. Clearly more to it behind the scenes.
