Hitzlsperger has his say on 10:32 - Dec 5 with 3087 views | Bucklebury_blue | If he believes what he says ('To be clear - if clarity is in fact needed - the rainbow armband's objective is not to promote homosexuality. It is supposed to help fight discrimination.') then there needs to be a reset. I don't know anyone who thinks the rainbow represents anyone but the LGBTQ+ people. If it did why isn't there an H in there for heterosexual or S for straight? Seems to me they want tolerance for everyone except people who don't agree with them.

how have you got that so wrong? It's not about promoting it, it's about the discrimination against those of the LGBTQ+ community ( BTW I hate using the word community as it puts them in a category so I apologise for this, but not quite sure of better wording to use here to make my point), not sure why you'd need an H or s in there when we're not the ones being discriminated against [Post edited 5 Dec 2024 10:41]

Every time a public institution employs/promotes someone because they are from a so-called minority to fill a quota or tick a box, 'we' (your word) are being discriminated against. It's even called positive discrimination.

So-called minority? If a minority wasn't a minority it would be called something else.

They = LGBTQ+ people who insist you are either for them by wearing rainbows or against them if you don't and there is no middle ground where people can be neutral. I don't wear rainbows but I want them* to be able to live their lives as they* want without fear and I expect the same respect from them*. * 'them/they' definition: see first two words of this reply.

Heterosexuals aren't discrimnated against though ya big wally. Except maybe at the odd militant gay club night.* But most straight folk probably don't want to go anyway. *I'm being facetious before anyonge gets offended.

It looks like you do indeed need more clarity! He’s talking about campaigning for equality and freedom from discrimination for LGBTQ+ people. Homosexuality is obviously included in that (it can be in the G, B or Q bits I imagine).

You haven’t read the article linked in the OP have you? Otherwise you’d know that’s nonsense that you’re being forced to do anything. Or indeed followed much of the discussion on here about this topic where there’s been quite a lot of considered and neutral discussion of the various elements.

Hitzlsperger has his say on 13:50 - Dec 5 with 2072 views | Swansea_Blue | I really like Hitzlsperger‘s stance on this btw. A really positive way to look at the progress made. It’s a sensible stance to take regarding Sam and Guehi as well - there’s no point being over critical and you do have to believe they would be supportive of a gay footballer in their dressing room. We’ve seen Sam abstain from celebrating with alcohol despite supporting those colleagues who drink. I doubt this would be any different based on what everyone in the club says about his character.

When were you young? Because gay marriage has only been legal since 2014 so we probably don't want things to go back to pre-2014 days
