Christmas Wish List 10:08 - Dec 15 with 5077 viewsJohnDeereBoys

Right who's top of our Christmas Wish for players? Top 2 players we realistically have a chance of getting.

My two are

1) Evan Ferguson Loan
2) Rashford Loan

Rashford lol

Other alternatives; could Weghorst be an alternative as a 9 (loan) and do the Kieffer role from last year? Another tall player up front, cheaper option, could be Gustaf Nilsson at Club Brugge.

Ken Sema at Watford?

Ipswich Town FC since 1981

Are you smoking crack this early on a Sunday?

Rashford is on 350k a week - and is a shadow of his former self

Yes. Failing that Mbappe or Haaland would be the next obvious choices.

We will be back in for the Middlesbrough striker

1. Right back assuming Axe is still out
2. Centre forward

and move Hutch to right wing.

Joel Piroe from Leeds, but he would be a significant cost in fee and wages, Haji Wright from Coventry would fit our system I think.
But I expect it will be another Liam Delap type player, who is not getting game time and see's Town as a club he can develop and showcase his ability in the PL.

Surely Sunday morning is the best day of the week to enjoy a crack based breakfast?

Right back has to be a priority position. Axel is injured and out of contract at the end of the season.

Right wing: Tom Fellows
Right back: Ben Doak
Centre forward: Tommy Conway
Midfield: Borja Sainz

We are going to need to work fast and be adaptable, the priority has to be young promising players, but if we can't get them, we have to utiise the loan market well.

You would like to think the recruitment team are all over this, and have already got 3 waiting to come in.

Taiwo Awoniyi
Miguel Almiron
Archie Gray

Probably on the ambitious side, especially as we only have 1 Prem loan spot left. I actually hope we go back into the foreign market, Cajuste proving to be a success.

Ben Doak isn’t a right back, he’s a very attacking forward, playing right wing for Boro. If Liverpool can recall him in Jan and send him back out to a higher club, I imagine he’d be on our list, although, we might go for somebody more established a la Phillips for our final Prem loan spot.

350k a week is £8.4m for 6 months (ridiculous I may add)… but that isn’t a ridiculous sum if it kept us in the league.

Getting him to come play for us would be the hard part but if we were offered Rashford for 6 months under £10m we would be stupid to say no IMO.

The trouble is that Rashford is a shadow of his former self. He looks a has been; like he’s made his dough and is comfortable. Is he really going to leap into action at a much smaller club the other side of the country? Everybody loves a marquee signing but sorry, that’d be nuts at any price. Absolute no thanks from me.

Archie Gray is an interesting loan suggestion. He can play in a variety of positions and is immensely talented. However, why bring him in given we have Humphreys doing great things at Wycombe?

Sainz is doing well for them up the road. Looks a good player. Offer them £5m and a tray of Ginsters pasties for the Board now Delia has hobbled away with her Sherry bottles and it’d be worth it for the rage.

Seriously Latte Lath seems the obvious one. What about Ellis Simms? Only 23, big bloke. But is he anything more than Championship level? Looked good at times, heavy and slow in other games.

Sainz is a decent player, not sure he'd meet the character requirements for playing at Town what with being a bit of a knob

Isn’t Chilwell always injured? The last thing we need is another sick note. Dewsbury Hall is a good player but that pitch of ours is new. Last thing we need is him rolling about on it for four months.

Adebayo? I take it you mean the Luton lad. If so, he’s big, not prolific, coming up to 27 years old but actually might be a good fit. Ferguson? He will either stay at Brighton or go to somebody further up the food chain than ourselves. Young too.
