Arsenal’s Saka out for weeks 18:27 - Dec 23 with 3598 viewsBlueMoon

Don’t like to see injuries but this helps us no end. Might make watching the game on 27th a bit more enjoyable than watching Saka banging in a hatful.

Sorry to sound pessimistic, but them losing Saka won’t have much of a bearing on difference in quality. We’re going to need to be incredibly resilient to get anything.

Only Jesus, Martinelli, Odegaard, Havertz and their set pieces to worry about now...

True but listening on Talksport today Arsenal fans seems like it's the end of the season for them. They're devastated. Then I thought...what would they be like if they had our level of injured players. Weird lot Arsenal fans.

There is that, I'll make a statement I regret here but Newcastle are probably a more fluid dynamic side than them and let's hope we have learnt from that experience

Arsenal are quite defensively pragmatic under Arteta, they're defensively rock solid and excellent from set pieces, we probably have a greater ability to stop them in open play, perhaps more so than Newcastle

Not that that's any guarantee we are good enough to prevent whatever they throw at us frankly

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Yeah, whatever would Arsenal do if they were missing Axel Tuanzebe, Chiedoze Ogbene and George Hirst?!?

It will make a big difference. Just won't be enough for us to stand much chance of getting a point. I would expect to lose more comfortably if he were fit and playing.

We're pretty good at defending set pieces nowadays. It's in-your-face pressing and on-the-break runs which cause us problems.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

If I could choose one player to miss against us it would be Saka. Then Odegaard.

Delap is back.

We have a small chance. But we need to play 5 at the back.

You'd think we were about to play Pep's Barca team from 2009 judging by all the comments and predictions leading up to this game.

Granted Everton are more solid than we are but they went there and got a 0-0 recently. Arsenal aren't what they were the last two seasons.

Saw similar predictions before Tottenham.

Maybe someone should tell Palace they’re not as good as they used to be..

Did they go there play 4 2 3 1 with a high line. Playing it at the back etc..

Or did they park the bus?

Think both Everton and Palace tried to park the bus.

One got a 0-0 draw, and the other got hammered.

Do think we need to be a little more pragmatic, but that in itself doesn’t necessarily mean we can hold out for a draw.

They probably will only score 3 or 4 without him, compared to the 6 or 7 they would've got.

I still have a fear of equaling, or bettering (worsening?), the PL highest score and this is one of the games I had in mind for that. At HT on Saturday I would have taken 0-4 all day long as that was looking like it could run away from us very badly.

While we can be fairly solid there are also times where the opposition look like they could score with every attack, and I imagine that even without Saka there will one heck of a lot of attacks to repel on Friday.

Saka is the player who has been delivering their most dangerous set pieces... we'll still be up against it but don't write us off yet - there could be some interesting match-ups across the pitch

They are without Saka. I am predicting 2-0. I would expect a more comfortable win for them if he were playing. My predictions are mainly wrong anyway.

As a matter of interest, do you think Saka would make any difference to the result were he playing? Of course, he is less of a miss for them than Delap/Hirst/Morsy are/would be for us.

Naa. I seen us beat the Arsenal in London 1-0.
Roger scored.
I remember it distictly.

A repeat of that performance and result would be fantastic. Although, I am not sure we would enjoy the repeated failure to take our chances until the final whistle was blown.
