....but people will inevitably lose interest when we are playing Preston and Oxford rather than Liverpool and Man City. Plus as others have noted people won't be buying tickets to sell on because there won't be the demand. Anyway, who knows we might stay up! Maybe.

No, that's not the reality..... on 16:34 - Dec 29 by Mullet | People just been abusing the points knowing they can sell on any ticket I guess. Then have their pick of them when they actually want to go. The amount of half and half scarves around us at the emirates was appalling - can’t get my head around that mentality at all. |
...know anyone that has been asked to pick their tickets up with ID at the ground. If that was a bit more prevalent it would surely discourage an element of the "passing on". I just don't think the club really care that much, as long as the tickets are sold.

Course not, as they get the money and don’t upset anyone. Had the touts on Twitter been banned I reckon you’d have seen a reduction in it too. But it’s all academic as the club are damned either way. Imagine the bad PR and fuss that would have created

No, that's not the reality..... on 16:19 - Dec 29 by TractorWood | Glad you said this. Two lads near me, one was wearing an Arsenal shirt under his coat. An old school geezer (rightly) told him to Foxtrot Oscar when he spotted it and they obliged. No idea how tickets are getting in their hands. Friends and family of the club being handed out or resale? Loads of half and half scarves and popcorn eating too. Give me Blackburn away with 4k core Town fans any day. |
Wouldn't surprise me if it was my cousins partner. He proudly posted on Facebook he was at the game with the Ipswich fans but is a die hard Arsenal fan. To say I was furious is an understatement.

No, that's not the reality..... on 16:11 - Dec 29 by Mullet | I went on Galloways with Snr to Arsenal as it’s rare I get to travel much him. After the game getting back on the bus “did you enjoy your first away game?” Said one bloke to another as we sat down. Tickets have become such an issue this season/tail end of last season. You then come across stuff like that and it does beggar belief- there’s no will to properly police tickets because ultimately the club get the money don’t they? Likewise they could do kids for a quid or something and Rovers won’t sell out, the pool of fans wanting tickets only want them for a chance to buy a half and half etc |
I didn't know how much this stuff goes on, but presumably the fans with high points are just buying them for every game then either selling or giving away to friends/family. Doesn't seem right but not a lot the club can do, I should imagine without it becoming a costly venture.

as long as you constantly point out the little 1978 gap in their trophies list around the stadium, is because they lost to the mighty Town :) because as daft as it sounds alot of Arsenal "fans" dont know that.

its exactly what happened last time...and has been brought up multiple times in our recent history of where did all our fans go, and where have they all come from now. I remember maybe 4 or 5 seasons ago, getting on a train back from London when West Ham had been playing at home, the amount of West Ham fans who got off at Colchester and Ipswich was unreal. ISTR someone said West Ham season tickets when they moved to Stratford were stupidly cheap for families,to try to fill the place, possibly even cheaper than Towns at the time, so yeah that will be a fun game to look forward to at the end of this season... and yeah I think if Town go down, we wont be filling the ground every game anymore. people got used to being successful and winning, alot of the frustration I see from fans at home games at the moment is as much just down to them having to watch 90mins of a game when we arent very good, where we dont look likely to win, or even score a goal. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

We didn't fill the stadium... on 12:47 - Dec 29 by Bloots | ..."consistently" when we were in The Championship, we filled it last year. And we definitely didn't fill it when we were in league one. If we get relegated attendances will hold up for one year, maybe two, purely because people won't want to miss out on Prem tickets if we go back up. After that it will drop off, down to around 25k initially I expect. |
If you're dismissing being in the Prem as a high then surely most of Evans' reign can be dismissed for being a real low with zero hope? People want to see their club with a chance of competing while playing good football. We didn't have that under Evans for the majority of his time. Why are you so negative all the time these days?

14,000 tickets sold for the FA Cup match..... on 14:26 - Dec 29 by SuffolkPunchFC | I'm not sure if I've misunderstood you, but tickets for the FA cup match are now open to any member to buy. Purchase was only restricted to season ticket holders wishing to take their seat until the 20th |
The general point of the thread is correct and it won’t sell out but worth noting the game isn’t yet on general sale so still not a case that anyone can buy. Assume that’ll change any day now given how long the last window (ST holders buying an extra seat) has been on and the volume of tickets remaining

I think the drop off will be less than 25k I remember mid 90's some games were 9/10k and yes I was one of the Stockport 5000!
14,000 tickets sold for the FA Cup match..... on 09:52 - Dec 30 with 2767 views | azuremerlangus | Just for some perspective I’m reading Jason Dozzell’s book (very good read if you are of that era) and he mentions attendances dropping below 10k during John Duncan’s tenure. I noticed at the Newcastle game that there were a lot of empty seats at the front end of the match - season ticket holders not turning up due to other xmas plans/illness etc? Not sure what you can conclude from that other than the resale system probably not being fully utilised? How many ST holders attend every home PL match? The take-up of FA comp. tickets by ST holders and when they go on general sale will be interesting given the current demand for PL tickets.

It is open to non ST members. Club appear to have misjudged interest in this one. It's the right logic to limit sales but they could have softened the limits when take up as been obviously weak. As you imply, a load will get hoovered up on general sale so not really an issue.

I didn’t say it wasn’t? Don’t think that’s really relevant to the OP’s point though as non-ST members have been able to go to every home game as the first sales priority. It is only non-members that wouldn’t have been able to go and they still won’t have been able to buy a ticket for this game either unless they know a ST holder to buy them an extra ticket in the current window It will be miles from a sellout though, obviously

No idea what you’re talking about, I just said that it wasn’t on general sale yet (which it isn’t) and that the last window put on sale was for season ticket holders buying an extra seat (which it was) Confused of Ipswich 🤷🏻♂️

Think it’s just down to Xmas, they have to do the ST ticket and member windows first before moving to general sale. Last window opened up was 23rd Dec and obviously weren’t going to be having any releases over Xmas so expect general will be announced anytime now (and probably going on sale Thurs/Fri)

Bagged mine easily enough, but waiting very patiently for general sale so I can take my two teenagers to their most likely one and only game this season. They were JB members for 10 years. In league one they got two tix each. In the champ they got one ticket each. In the prem they get none, so little point in signing up this season. (Plus they're a little old for pencil cases and water bottles!) Hopefully I'll be able to get them seats near me when they do go on general sale.

Open an account in each of their names, link their accounts to yours as friends & family, then you should be able to purchase 3 tickets together (and re-assign one to each child). I did similar to purchase a stadium tour for my (non member) parents. There is online guidance if you need it.
