Russell Martin is available

Wayne Rooney is available for West Ham but preferable Everton.

I wouldn’t be if the Tottenham job came up.

That's the one I fear the most. Tottenham then Man Utd seems the perfect path for him.

I think Kieran is a bit more classy and discerning than the West Ham owners and their DOF...

Probably right although spurs are a circus and have spat out a lot of good managers. Might put a big dent in KM’s CV. On the other hand, if he wins then a trophy he’ll be the king of north London.

Potter in potentially - that's frustrating for us as I think that is a great fit for both of them.

Obviously they would love to get Kieran. Slight risk he might go? They've proved they can make top 7 or so recently, so probably a higher bar than us right now.

Not to them. He'll be pleased how his stock has remained high despite us struggling. Spurs is the one I'd be nervous about

Potter in. He’s a slow burn, which is good for us.

I think Potter is a bit over hyped. What he did at Brighton doesn't mean he can do it anywhere. Still think Wolves are our best hope of survival.

Not a surprise, I heard about three weeks ago they were touting the job around to a number of other managers.

Didn't fancy it then Phil?

Nothing on BBC yet either, looks like Lopetegui is getting the same treatment as Moyes except this time he is the one out in the cold whilst Graham Potter is the one discussing terms with the West Ham owners. Presumably if those talks break down then the West Ham board are happy to let Lopetegui manage the next game with every camera in the ground tracking his pained expression ?

A story has appeared on the BBC website a few minutes after my last post:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/fo

'Hammers sources have denied Lopetegui has already been dismissed but accept the former Real Madrid and Spain coach is under huge pressure...West Ham's technical director Tim Steidten has been pictured talking to former Chelsea and Brighton boss Graham Potter, who has previously been linked with the Hammers job...Club officials have privately confirmed Steidten is no longer working out of the club's training ground, in a move that has echoes of the split between Moyes and the former Bayer Leverkusen technical director towards the end of last season.'

Arguably the most Moyes-looking squad they've had since pre-Moyes.. then get a Spanish manager.

That club is obviously not run well, so maybe there is still hope. They just have quite a lead on us.
It cannot be publicly known that they are looking for a new manager while the current manager is still in place. It just makes no sense that the manager is under pressure to get a result from a certain match. He can't be close to the sack in October and then now. He's clearly the wrong man, but worse for West Ham is that the wrong people are in place above the manager.

I know that football is cutthroat but the way that club is treating Lopetegui is quite shoddy.

Although he was prepared to open talks whilst Moyes was still in post. There is an element of 'qui gladio ferit, gladio perit' to it all.

Apparently they only wanted to offer Potter a contract until the end of the season, looking like it's all gone a bit t*ts up over there
