Wtf. We Play Brighton Thursday and then Man City Sunday. They Play Tuesday/Sunday. That's a huge advantage for them who really don't need giving an advantage. That's crazy.

I thought that clubs matches were staggered during Dec-Jan. A sort of half arsed winter break where some teams get more of a rest in December whilst others are more rested in January.

I agree on fielding our strongest team against Brighton. But City at home isn't impossible depending which one turns up. It has got a lot harder. We have to try and win it but he'll make changes. Cajuste probably can't do 2 games in 3 days. Same for player slike Broady. I guess we'll see what happens and whether Hutch, Hirst etc are back. | |

Yes. Still go for the win against City, of course. Got to try and win every game if we can. But even when the opposition has had an equal break to ourselves in games, we end up weaker when subs are made. City having two days extra on us with exacerbate that. | |

Good point! I think we will see Morsy and Phillips in that game then perhaps like you say. Although in reality I imagine he will just pick the side he thinks has the most chance of beating Brighton and worry about Man City after. | |

I think we've had a couple of fixtures go in our favour though similarly. Bournemouth at home was one where we played on Tuesday and they played on Thursday. You could argue we got lucky with an extra day for the Arsenal away game too.

With Phillips unavailable to play against Man City I think it's quite likely we see him start against Brighton. It will be interesting to see who he starts with. Do we start Morsy/Phillips against Brighton and Morsy/Cajuste against City or Phillips/Cajuste against Brighton and Morsy/Cajuste against City?
Cajuste has tended to be subbed off at 60/70 minutes so maybe we manage his minutes over two games. | |
