The striker search ... 13:56 - Jan 8 with 8339 views | berkstractorboy | ... got that bit tougher as along with Everton, West Ham (lost Bowen and Antonio), Arsenal and probably others in need of a striker, Bournemouth now lost Evanilson and Unal in the last week. More established PL clubs possibly vying for the same strikers we might want won't help us as good as KMc is. I hope this is someone in advanced talks behind the scenes as we really need stronger option(s) to back up Delap by the time we get to the Brighton game.

The striker search ... on 15:14 - Jan 8 with 1337 views | Sandman180 | Getting a striker in is non-negotiable; unsure on Hirst's current timeframe in terms of his return from injury, but we're one injury to delap away from imploding from an attacking perspective. Is Ali still recovering from this op? Looks devoid of any fitness, which is concerning for the odd 10 minute cameo - obviously the big step up in quality has been evident too with him, needs a champ/LG1 loan, but the drop off when Delap comes off is very significant. We need to delve into the European market i think, saw Mckenna mention the club being off it in terms of scouting vs other clubs, but you're held to ransom domestically and end up paying over the odds the majority of the time. Let's see.

The striker search ... on 15:01 - Jan 8 by Vaughan8 | Yes I hope we don't massively overpay for someone. I can see us getting a loan signing in from somewhere. However that is likely to be from a "bigger" team than the Champiosnhip. |
Trouble is, we will be down the list for any strikers with experience looking to move if Bournemouth, Everton and West Ham are hunting . We can't really afford to bring in someone and have them take a few weeks to get back up to speed. I'm thinking we will go for someone playing week in week out, even if they are Championship. Plus there has been a lot of managers moving about. Take Danny Ings for example. A month ago you would assume he would want to move, but if they have a new manager on the way, he will stay. Taiwo Awoniyi could be an option if Forest start splashing the cash for a long term option to Wood, but I can't see him choosing to come here over Everton or Bournemouth.

The striker search ... on 14:46 - Jan 8 by ITFC_Forever | We were interested in Ferguson two years ago and signed Hirst on a permanent contract instead. |
I think we had a chance of getting Ferguson that window, as there had been positive contact beforehand, but then Brighton got a couple of injuries, he got called up to the first team, had a Delap like introduction over a few games, & was suddenly way beyond a loan to a League 1 club.

Yep, child because I’d be annoyed that we’ve failed to bring in a striker in 2 windows. I don’t mind you not caring, so why care that I do? Speaking of spending a life disappointed, how is your wife, did she have a nice Xmas?

The striker search ... on 15:34 - Jan 8 with 1229 views | itfcsuth | There are options there for us. I like Lukas Nmecha at Wolfsburg, former Man City youth, a real physical profile, academy pedigree and contract due to run out in 2025 - looks a strong option on a permanent. Latte Lath looks really expensive. Divock Origi - is a forgotten man at AC Milan, has a bundle of top level experience, and at 29 could prove to be a real option to support Delap. Eldor Schomurodov - another loan probably, but a player very much in the mould of Liam Delap, a physical centre forward with powerful running, also at 29, game time limited at Roma, he could be another option. There are always options out there, and we need to get one over the line as soon as possible. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
The striker search ... on 15:40 - Jan 8 with 1213 views | OldFart71 | As we have just brought in a defender from Atalanta and it's rumoured that we are looking at a winger from abroad this means our scouting net has widened somewhat. Therefore maybe we need to consider looking abroad as many strikers over here seem to be overpriced.

If AC Milan do get Rashford that might mean a player could leave. Hadn't thought about Origi but ticks some boxes with PL experience and speaks English. Not applied much thought to the overseas market as we don't seem to want to use that at present.

Such an ignorant response, albeit pretty standard stuff from you. Just because I don't shout my mouth off or constantly moan, it doesn't mean I don't care. It's obvious that we need reinforcements and clearly we will be trying. It's the utterly pathetic reaction from cretins like you who don't seem to be able to grasp that it will be far from easy and will cry like a baby if we don't get a marquee signing through the door. 😂😂😂😂 who’s shouting? I don’t want a marquee signing. I want a substantial upgrade on the L2 sub striker we have. That’s all. But you know, what a cretin for wanting such an outrageously ambitious signing.

It's kind of correct though isn't it? Striker situation is complex, we all can see Ali isn't really at Premier League level, sad as that is, and we need back up. That said, Hirst I still rate, especially for how we play and he'll be back sooner rather than later. That means we're possibly negotiating for a striker to come in and not know where they are in the pecking order. Realistically....are they getting in ahead of Delap...doesn't look likely now (injury/suspension aside) which means you're being signed to make an impact on 60/70 and almost certainly competing with a Hirst who's trusted and knows the system. We won't guarantee anything, so whoever comes in is either top bloody drawer and displacing Delap or somewhere between Hirst and Championship (Haji?). I doubt we'll be signing anyone incredible in that position. I can see why we're looking at Philogene and Doak. Missing Ogbene has already hurt us on that side. Hutch now out means we need serious quality to come in.

No it's not correct Managers get sacked for poor performances, even if they've had 100 injuries, players sent off, players going on strike etc etc ( Being over dramatic with that obv), they don't get to blame the tools, the get judged on the results M/A's job is to get the manager what he needs to do the job, there are 100,000 football players in the world, he already failed by leaving us with just AAH as back up in the first part of the season, IF and only IF he failed again this window, then he's fked up. No different to when a manager gets sacked, they didn't go their job. And no im not saying sack M/A if we don't get one. BUT this whole it's not fm is bullox. We are ITFC, only GD seperates us from being 1 place above the relegation zone. We have KM as manager who's developed players in more ways than many other managers have been able to. IF you can't sign another striker from the world of football whos better than AAH, then that's a problem.

You’re arguing back about me wanting a marquee signing, when all I want is an upgrade on AAH… so that’s exactly what you are saying. Above, instead of acknowledging that, you then went all name calling. But don’t worry, I forgive you [Post edited 8 Jan 16:19]
