Well, it depends on Phillips. If he’s right and plays the games then ok, not a priority. Cajuste - good player but fitness. Is he robust enough? Morsy is but for how much longer? Luongo. Has done brilliantly but is his time up? It’d appear so beyond cover. Taylor. I like him but don’t see him as a starter. Maybe he is growing into that - he’s certainly improved this season.
Only in the Leicester game have I felt we’ve truly dominated the midfield - until we lost a player (thanks Ref!). Other games, we’ve been overrun or played around teams a bit apart from spells here and there.
So legs, energy, passing, box to box player. I did wonder about Humphreys, but was shot down on that and probably correct to be. Let him grow in L1 or Luton if he follows Bloomfield. But he’s flexible and very talented.
I guess that’s where I’m coming from with that and am happy to be battered for it. I’m no expert. I guess I expected Phillips to be the player I have tried to describe, but I’ve not seen it yet. Maybe he will be now to season’s end. | | | |

Concerns over Philips fitness I get, but makes you concerned about Cajuste’s? He’s been pretty much ever present since he broke into the team hasn’t he? Couple of little niggles but not much to be alarmed at Id have thought. IIRC KM made a comment last week about having enough in MF at the moment. Or was he talking about defence?
It’s a 3rd CF we really need - and a rival for Hutch that we really need. Phil O whatshisname will do that nicely, but it’s looking increasingly unlikely to happen. |  |

Lower it to £15M with 25% sell on in 1st 2 years or £20M and 10%. If this is correct then Villa are trying to pull our pants down. If they can get someone of Malen quality for £20M (ish) but rate a player they don't want as more expensive and think he could have a greater price within 2 years, something seems off.
They shouldn't benefit from KMc ability to develop players without taking some risk by selling for lower and then get more of our profit later as ITFC put in development effort and costs. | | | |
