As well as us needing one, he needs to be playing regularly on loan. I am sure he is a better player than he is currently showing and his confidence will be very low.

People haven't backed him. They've just said there is no need to berate him when the club clearly and demonstrably knows he isn't up to it and have tried to get in another striker.

Ultimately, he’s still one of our players.

But you kind of defeat yourself in what you say. Yes of course people back him. He's an Ipswich player in an Ipswich team. What do you want people to do?
I'm pretty sure there isn't anyone on this board or in the club that things he is the best option, or even a very good option to lead the line at this club in this league at the moment. Slagging him off and not backing a player playing for the team we support when there are literally no options and then expecting credit as some sort of wise sage is plainly ridiculous.

If anyone is to be berated it's the person who brought him to ITFC and selects him in the team. All we can expect from a player is that they try their best.

His pre Town record was (and this is the key word here)promising. He definitely needs a loan somewhere suitable to build confidence, sharpness and fitness.

And [people] to stop looking to make him the new scapegoat now that Muric has been dropped.

There’s no ‘blame’ to be give out. Unless people want to blame Hirst for getting injured?
Without that AAH isn’t even in the squad.

This board is weird at the moment.

He should have been loaned out pre-season to continue his own development for his own good, instead of being kept as cover for Hirst's injuries.

So that Gerard Buabo or some other youngster could be facing the abuse aimed at AAH instead.

Lad needs a bit of grease in his wheels. He obviously shows McKenna enough on the training pitch to remain in the picture, maybe has a bit of stage fright about him on the night.

Either way, he probably needs a confidence booster soon.

Yes, it is just unfortunate for him that that initial promise was only at league two level. The club has progressed quicker than the player has been able to. Absolutely no fault of the player. And not for want of trying.

No it's up to the manager to have players in his squad capable of performing at the required level or change his tactics to make the best of what he's got so any criticism should be directed at him

I agree with that sentiment let's not ruin the lad he needs a loan at either championship or league one and plenty of minutes.

What, Bristol Rovers? He's good enough to play against them surely. He has worked hard today, hot in some decent positions, held it up, laid it off ok. I agree, he is lacking in quality and composure and the penalty was poor, but he did a job today. Having said that, I hope Hirst stays fit and we bring in another striker to give Ali a chance to develop in Championship or L1, build his confidence back up.

AAH was never brought in as a Premier League player, just as Freddie Ladapo wasn't . I'm sure the player must be aware of all that's going on around him. The fact that strikers are being looked at, that there's already two ahead of him and that nobody believes he's good enough and every error he makes is just magnified. You have to feel sorry for any player in his position but as a club we cannot now have any player in the squad that isn't up to the quality need.

So do I, but his time here is done. The haters that allegedly ‘follow’ this club will not leave him alone whatever he does. Same with Muric.

When AAH signed McKenna said “He fits our recruitment profile of being a young, hungry, athletic and technical player who we feel can have an impact in the squad straight away, but also has room to grow and develop for the future,"

Some people clearly disagree with McKenna so they should start on him. He approved the signing as he did the keeper. Other clubs were in for AAH and a view at Wimbledon is that he’s the best player they’ve ever had. According to the scapegoaters, all these people were wrong a year ago.

Yes, if he is over his injury and is playing pain free, he needs a loan to a Championship or top L1 club to play week in week out.

He will never say this, rightly, but I doubt he was high on McKenna's wishlist. It feels like it has happened in every transfer window since Gamechanger took over, but we struggled to bring in the striker we wanted to so were left scrabbling to just bring in someone.

Sorry was walking back from a ski lift and wasn’t concentrating and maybe what I said wasn’t exactly what I meant. Yes he’s our player and should be supported but point remains he is currently woefully out of his depth not even factoring the penalty. But I’m sure KMc knows that.

Phil's report the other day said this, and I'd rather put my trust in McKenna.

It’s understood Al-Hamadi would have joined Derby County in the summer had Town added another striker on deadline day but McKenna says there are no immediate plans to send the Iraqi international out, although that could change if the Blues sign another frontman, as they hope to before the end of the window.

“It's a big if,” McKenna said when asked about Hamadi potentially going out on loan. “I think we like to have three centre forwards in the building, or three people who are comfortable in that role in the building, because we know that we always use two in pretty much every game.

“Since I've been here, it's very rare for us not to use two strikers. And, of course, if you lose one, then you're a lot shorter. So we want to have three forwards in the building.

“Hopefully, if George Hirst can come through the very last bit now, then we'll have Liam [Delap], George and Ali in the building, which leaves us in a pretty good position.

“And if we go like that to the end of the season, then we'll have some strong options there. If there are any changes in that, then, of course, the situation could change for the players here.

“So, at the moment, hopefully George gets back and we'll have the three of those, and that gives us the base to work from that we want.”

As it is, I thought Al-Hamadi had a fairly decent game today, leaving aside the missed penalty (which can happen to any player).

He held the ball up well, had an assist for Taylor's goal and had the shot which set up Clarke's goal. He also had some good runs in the second half where the ball didn't quite run for him.

It should also be borne in mind that as well as having had an injury, he hasn't had much time on the pitch to get match fit.

So let's get behind him, because if we don't sign another striker there's no point getting on his back if, say, Hirst or Delap gets injured.
