Glad to see Ali’s deal is just a loan 13:36 - Jan 24 with 2572 views | MalcolmBlue | Would’ve been genuinely sad if we lost him this window, hope he gets a good run of games and comes back home in form.

Glad to see Ali’s deal is just a loan on 13:42 - Jan 24 with 2526 views | davblue | i personally don't see it for us or in the Championship, but he might just be a guy who needs the rhythm of games. I didn't see much last year that made me think he's Championship quality but i genuinely whish him all the best. If he goes there and scores a good number of goals then we will benefit either with him returning or selling him elsewhere.
Glad to see Ali’s deal is just a loan on 13:44 - Jan 24 with 2508 views | MK1 | Sadly for him, we have outgrown him very quickly. Bottom half Championship will be his level. Would love to be wrong, but that is my totally honest opinion.

Surely we are just hoping.... on 13:46 - Jan 24 with 2472 views | Bloots | ....he gets a decent amount of goals by the end of the season so that we can flog him for £5m-£10m in the summer.

Glad to see Ali’s deal is just a loan on 13:52 - Jan 24 with 2420 views | Churchman | Me too. In my view there is a lot more to his game than people think. Some managers clearly think that too. I really hope he gets a good run of games and shows what he can do. If he does, it can only benefit him, Stoke and ourselves.

Agreed I saw nothing at all last season to suggest he could be a good championship striker , league 1 or 2 looks his level ! [Post edited 24 Jan 13:54]

Really don't like the phrase that we've outgrown him. There is space at this club for lots of different players, all at different stages of their careers. Ali is at the beginning of his and so needs development time, whilst he is not ready for Premiership football he maybe in a season or two once he develops more.

5m-10m! I wish him well. But seems so far from reality.

Glad to see Ali’s deal is just a loan on 20:52 - Jan 24 with 1645 views | mutters | I agree, people who are writing him off are a bit shortsighted imo. I have seen his game, and yes he does look a little short especially for the Premier League and his confidence looks a bit short, but the guy is 22 and last season was playing L2. He needs time and more importantly playing time. Playing the in championship is a great opportunity for him to grow and continue along his journey.

I’ll be amazed if he scores in the Championship, in a team that’s not laying them on a plate for him. For his career, I hope he does.

He’s 22 not 17. A good third of the way through his career not at the start.

Just as well people didn't write off Wes Burns at that age then as he was playing League Two as well then!

Or Jamie Vardy, he was playing for Stocksbridge Park Steels at 22. Writing off any player at 22 is ridiculous!

Trying to remember his goals. Penalty v Millwall (bit of a there you go mate, we're 3 up anyway, grab your first goal moment) V Bristol City. I actually thought Davis had scored it, turns out he got a deflection V Sheff Wed. Literally rolled it in from 2 yards after Omari stuck it on a plate There was another wasn't there but I can't recall it, think it may have been v Sheff Weds as well. [Post edited 25 Jan 8:14]

Wish I could give you 2 uppies for your posts on this thread, so have one of these instead Last season we were asking him to try to adapt to Championship football after making the step up from League Two (whilst playing through an issue that required surgery). Following that surgery, we were trying to find him a Championship loan in the summer (no secret), and when we failed to sign a 3rd No.9 in that window, he was kept on. So due to Hirst's injury, for half a season we've had to ask him to do a job for us at the higher Prem level while coming back from that surgery - the fact he's got stick from some sections of our fans for doing that is frankly embarrassing. For comparison, we have another young player at the club who has looked a "little short" this season, pretty much for the same main reason as Al-Hamadi (returning from major surgery) Haven't read any comments writing him off (or worse, hoping he never plays for us again) - he's just a year older but has played 3,334 minutes compared to Al-Hamadi's 281 minutes of Championship football, so personally I'm going to reserve judgement until he's had a fair crack at that level whilst fully fit.

Ian Wright of course signed his first contract for Crystal Palace a few days short of 22. Not every player develops at the same rate or in the same way. As for people dismissing his goals as tap ins etc that’s unfair. Do that and we’d better comb through Lineker and Wrights efforts and scratch them off the record. Now I’m not comparing him to them but just saying that a goal is a goal and putting yourself in position to score one is a skill. AAHs record in his Wimbledon season was a goal every two games. It’s no surprise he was looked at and bought. He’s been carrying injury and has been brought on this season into a poor Premier League team with no service. It’ll be interesting to see how he does in a more competitive team at a lower level. It’s up to him. Plenty of people seem interested in him and I wouldn’t write him off yet.

This^ There are so many on here that don't seem to understand that positioning is a huge part of the game. You get the same people spouting similar rubbish about goal keepers. Onana's save against Delap and his double save against Southampton last week were greeted by some on here as lucky, 'the player taking the shot just smashed it at him', completely ignoring the position that Onana had got himself into to 'get lucky'.
Glad to see Ali’s deal is just a loan on 09:50 - Jan 25 with 852 views | OldFart71 | They say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one, I did think when we first got Ali that he could be on a par with Salah. But of course his chances of playing have been stymied by our rise to the pinnacle of football's elite which I don't think anybody only the most enthusiastic fan would have predicted. A bad injury and lack of play has now led to this loan. We all hope he is the player we thought he could be.
Glad to see Ali’s deal is just a loan on 10:16 - Jan 25 with 806 views | Radlett_blue | I hope Hamadi gets to play a decent amount of football & shows he can play 70m+ after his groin surgery. Then, we might be in a place to decide what to do with him in the summer, when we know which league we'll be playing in.
