Cov tickets seem to be selling slower than other games…. 07:30 - Jan 28 with 4654 views | ITFC_Forever | Chance for some lower down batting order to go to a game, no matter the rights and wrongs of the current system. Never know, it might reach general sale or not sell out. Man Utd selling fast, despite it being a Wednesday night.

Does seem that now there’s no point to be had, a number of those in the top bracket haven’t bought them…. Got mine though. Easy trip, £15.

I think Villa away the following weekend has an impact, very similar journey. Will be interesting if we sell out

Cov tickets seem to be selling slower than other games…. on 08:31 - Jan 28 with 3362 views | Basuco | It's the FA cup these days, both Town and Coventry will play weakened teams so it's not a game that matters much in the grand scheme of things, sadly, so not a great attraction.

That’s good to hear. Sounds like it’s worked for that group of selfish arses then. But it doesn’t help those trying to climb that ladder lower down (but they could still buy and not go). It must be hard for the club - there isn’t an easy solution that will keep everyone happy.

Nope. It being the Cup and only Coventry has an impact. If it was an away PL game it would have sold out by now.

They only went on sale yesterday, and we don’t have enough 30+ to sell out games yet, although Bournemouth might… I suspect they’ll introduce a higher tier for that one.

if in some unlikely event ipswich got to the final or even semi final. If someone say has been to round 3 and 4, 5 etc would they get priority over someone who hasnt but has the points racked up from league games. How does that work?

If we get to the semi-final or final, then there will be plenty of tickets for super blues members.... but lets cross that bridge when we come to it..... given our recent cup records :-)

I wouldn’t expect the system to be used for cup final tickets instead 1 per season ticket holder first.

Probably be the best away atmosphere of the season

Gosh the moaning. The club are doing their best with this decision to ensure there ARE tickets for everyone who wants one. And not risk hundreds of people who would like an away trip these season frustrated at seeing empty seats on the FA Cup round up. Also despite the pearl clutching remember a point for anyone on 19 and below now would be somewhat irrelevant anyway as I doubt any more league games this season are going to go below +25 now. There's only been a 100 or so tickets going to +20 the last couple of games, and it won't make much difference next season with almost 3000 guaranteed to be starting on 25+ and everyone else on around 10-12. But I suspect demand will drop right down anyway when it's Blackburn, Preston and Sunderland at 12.30pm again and there's stacks of tickets available.
Cov tickets seem to be selling slower than other games…. on 10:40 - Jan 28 with 2439 views | tractorshark | Looking at the 6 blocks now, there are stacks and stacks of tickets left. I would have thought it will go down to the 5+ and Season Ticket categories. I'm not sure I totally agree with taking away the point as it restricts those on 19 points or 14 points from moving up but as others have rightly said, it may not have made much difference anyway. However, it does stop a repeat of Wimbledon where it was quite clear fans had bought tickets and not turned up. As I said yesterday, the club are damned if they do, damned if they don't. If they had awarded a point, then the same thing would have happened or it would have spooked fans into buying a ticket which deprives others a chance of going. Those in the 30+ bracket don't need the point and they probably wouldn't have targeted this game given the expenditure they are already shelling out to go to every away game in the league, so this is perhaps the fairest solution for all. As I've said before, if you genuinely just want to see Ipswich away this season and you don't care if it's a Coventry or a Southampton, then this is your chance to go. But the cynic in me says there will be a section of people who have moaned who still won't go to this game because it was all about seeing a Big Six club. And they still won't go to the likes of Swansea, Cardiff, Hull, Blackburn next season if we're relegated.

This bitching about away tickets is really tedious. I’m really hoping the regulars give this one a miss. I’m a home season ticket holder who previously liked to get to one away game per season. I’d say I’m a really good fan. Got young kids and can’t dedicate my entire life to football. I’ll get pelters for this but it would have been great if they had made this one a free for all to open up the shop for a one off cup game. But I get the loyalty system completely and would probably be annoyed if football was what I lived for like many fans here. Anyway this d!ck swinging contest is getting a little unsavoury now for my liking.

Are you trying to dig out people that move heaven and earth to get to the PL games (grounds they’ve waited to get to for 20+ years) and might not necessarily have the same drive to visit a ground they’ve been to 8/9 times? Surely the huge positive to some not going means that those desperate to watch an away game this season can attend? FWIW - I’m not doing Coventry or Man Utd, so I don’t even know what I am, probably a part timer…

In the same boat. Having a season ticket is a big enough time commitment with other family members to consider so 1 or 2 away games a season is all we can realistically manage. A pity for the boys that we’ve had to knock it on the head this season but was to be expected.
