Absolutely no idea how much of a positive effect this partnership would have but its a bit odd for nodge to partner with them over town isn't it?

I guess open question to the forum.. is this a missed opportunity as such or not really something that town need to bother with.

Town have had a running partnership with them & Culford School for a number of years and I don't think it's achieved a great deal, except we signed Ben Haddoch and often send a lot of our youth on loan there for 1-3 months.

I'm not sure if that partnership is still going after this, but I wouldn't imagine it affects a great deal even if it's now severed.

I think you'll find there's a tie in between Spurs and Culford School. Slightly ironic as when I was there we weren't allowed to play soccer! Ahhh those were the days.

You're right, they switched over to partner with Spurs not long ago didn't they. I reckon that probably had a knock on effect re. Bury T.

Personally I take it as a total travesty that Culford are with Spurs, but even worse,, a hotbed of previous top players (Milts, Pope - ok so he didn't choose Town, and many local to Bury: R Wright, Scowy) is now in Sc*m hands.
It feels like an annexation.

I don't think it lasted very long if ti got up and running at all. Alan Lee was the instigator and I think he left the academy before it got set up.

I think anyone who has kids playing football in Suffolk will know we are still light years behind - it's just about ok in Ipswich but outside that it's still all Norwich.

Norwich come looking for the best kids, whereas at Ipswich they still expect you to find them

Joe, you've always got the news behind the academy scene, how much are we pushing to get the cat 1 going and bridging that gap. We've heard the noises but only in the past year of course and MA wasn't really that fussed about it when he came in.

Are we actually trying or is it just words to keep the fans happy and they aren't really doing much to change things.

Not Good for Bury Town, some may find it a bit fickle, but there will be people that attend their games when town don't play who will no longer go because of this partnership.

Not quite, using their badge, their flag etc, surely they knew about it and should have squashed the idea.

The community side might not care, but Bury Town have earned alot of money from town fans and town fans who own companies.. they will lose many of these now. And for non league clubs every penny helps.

I'd say there is a lot to see. They used a Bury Town scarf in the promotion so someone must have known and serious words need to be had. Do they have a connection with the Community team?
Lots of town fans would watch Bury when Ipswich are not playing, me for one, but if there is any connection with the scum then they won't have a penny of my money. Bury FC need to answer the point about their scarf in the publicity

If you look at their website, they are based at Ram Meadow and have the Bury Town FC logo. I would therefore say there is a connection between the clubs and therefore as an entity Bury Town FC are connected with Norwich City.

Yeah its a load of bullox

at frimley, we were 1 club with a senior side, we then had a ressies and an u18 side.

However, seperate to that there was a frimley boys and girls group, of all ages of football upto and including u18s.

Yes they were a separate affiliation, different name, etc etc

However, they started using our facilities for games, and we became partners whilst mainaining their seperate affiliation, main reason being is they got more FA funding for being a seperate entity.

Indeed a clear connection and seems people are not communicating in the club. It's not a good look at all

I'd be more worried about Spurs moving heavily into this region, than Norwich, we have always competed with Norwich for good young players and for the last 15 years they had the upper hand in this regard, but we occupy the same space, however, Spurs is setting up partnerships here and their appeal (and resources) are much better than Norwich.

It's nowt to do with the link up really, nobody would really mind if it was any other club, and we know Town will always struggle against other clubs to get youth players, we know Norwich have been better at this than us for years.

It's the principle that alot of Town fans would support Bury directly in attendance, or indirectly with cash because they're local and Suffolk and we're linked.

A club boasting of its affiliation to our rivals, wrecks that link and now those Town fans will choose to support other clubs like Felixstowe & Walton instead.

A response from Bury Town FC - not sure why the community club thought it was a good idea to use another clubs scarf

The Community Club was originally the youth section of the club, but with 20+ teams it was too much to manage for a group of volunteers so it split to become Bury Town Community FC, hence the name and the badge. Bury Town FC is a separately run club, and there is no one person who is on the board of both clubs, you will be able to see this if you look at both clubs website. They provide youth football in the town up until the age of 18 whereas we run a senior side in the Isthmian League.

The scarf in the picture is easily available in our club shop and on-line, so we assume that because the Community Club do not have their own merchandise, it was used to reflect their part. We understand they firstly approached Ipswich Town Academy but they are already partnered with other local clubs and therefore could not work with them.

I can't add much more than is in the statement, we do not have any partnership with either Norwich City or Ipswich Town. In reality we have little to offer either club. Having spoken to Cole Skuse this morning, we still have a good relationship with Ipswich Town, we will continue to host their dementia cafe events at our ground and use their Under 18's players in our first team.

Sounds just like ITFC but on a smaller scale, needing to reconnect with their Community arm/foundation. Bury Town FC need to somehow connect with the community arm and control this shi@housery.

Suspect there's a couple of scum fans infiltrated the board of the community club and are behind this. Hope a few itfc parents/families now boycott the scum infested community club.

Clearly ITFC also need to up their community activities in West Suffolk too

I would somewhat disagree. How do you know that the best local lads aren’t at Ipswich at the younger ages compared to those at Norwich? Also, those that are at Norwich, how do you know they haven’t been seen by our Academy?
