He was bought for his potential. He played the end of last season with injury and the first half of this, short of fitness. He has scored in the Championship but people have dismissed his goals as tap ins. Presumably those people equally write off most of Lineker’s goals, Shearers, Denis Law’s, Defoe’s and so on. Don’t count, erase from the records?
Personally I believe that tap ins are a skill. You have to be there to do it.
I always felt he had something about him and people who know something about footballers, eg managers, clearly think so too. But given the dogs abuse he’s received on here, maybe I and they are wrong. |  | | |

Just because Al Hamadi wasn't good enough for us in the Premier League this season, it doesn't mean he won't be good enough to be 3rd choice for us in the Championship next season.
Either way, I think the likelihood is that we will see him back here. Possibly in an opposition shirt, though. |  |

There's rarely a lot of value in sacking off squad players to go and buy more squad players. I doubt we'll want to go out and sign two strikers. Maybe we decide we'd rather go with Hirst + 1 + Szmodics, but the one time we tried that it wasn't fun and we stuck Ali on at half time! | |

That's exceedingly harsh. Excellent move and sharpness and did very well to anticipate and slide and make good contact. Was a good goal by Stoke in an awful game. Stoke are as turgid as it gets to watch. Hopefully Robins can get them going so Ali gets more opportunities. Put in a right shift though.
Technically he has limitations/areas to improve but you can see with a run of games he can contribute at Champ level and I think he'll always score goals champ and below because he has good instincts and crazy desire to get on the end of things. | |
