On paper it’s a good format to see some high profile ex pros mixed in with popular talent, but the clips I’ve seen online just seem really naff. Can’t be more than a hundred or so people in the arena, cameras absolutely everywhere and staged flare ups between teams.
Anyone’s kids been enjoying it? (Or anyone on here for that matter)

One of the managers wore the why always me Balotelli shirt, a thick gold chain and stood there with a tooth pick in his mouth obviously thinking he looked incredibly cool and not at all pure cringe.
I don't think this league is for the likes of us. I would like the masters brought back. This format is odd, tries way too hard and seems very forced. The commentator seems to be on some sort of commission to say ballers league as many times as possible.
Each to their own. Overall it's not a massive surprise something clearly not aimed at the likes of me is something I consider a bit sh1t. |  |

I did a very very quick google and i'm none the wiser. The website is very visually noisy and I clicked on 'Meet the teams' to hopefully get a bit of insight

I made a conscious decision to tune in last night. Found myself growing into the football, and the final game of the night was played at a ferocious tempo. You could tell it mattered to the players.
Everything else about it turned me off. KSI on co-comms was unbearable.

It reminds me a bit of a football version of the Hundred. The old fella in the pavilion at Chelmsford will tell you it’s the worst thing ever, the kid in the playground will tell you they love it. I do think they’ll cut down on the gimmicky bits at the end of the half going forward, and hopefully take KSI off comms… |  | | |

I had it on in the background for a bit last night and the co-commentator was so bad I had to switch it off - I had made no attempt to engage with the rules etc but at the time it was Micah Richards being OTT and Freddie Ljungberg and Robert Pires strolling about as the other managers and talk about flags for a second yellow card and the like

Have to say, Robert Pires, Freddie Ljunberg and Jens Lehmann being the 'managers' of the team that Chambo coaches did make me chuckle. You'd have got good odds on that a few years ago.

I played 5-a-side in one of those evening leagues for a few years until injury/age stopped me playing. It's reminiscent of some of the aspects of that I liked least, certain teams full of show pony players either looking to embarrass opposition, show off or worse just looking for a fight.
Your point is a valid one about each to their own - I think this is aimed at a certain type of football fan, just like T20 cricket, and now The Hundred, have targetted a different type of cricket fan - a bit more focussed on the social media audience (flick and scroll) vs those that like to sit with a book or watch a good film - yup, I have socially stereotyped there, and am fully aware that some people do all 3, but hopefully you know what I mean.
Just because I don't particularly like it doesn't make it cr4p, but I will say the football is at best average, the coverage is ok but some of the commentary seems like it is just squeals and noise, from grown men.

The football itself I thought was pretty entertaining. Small sided football played at a high level is very fun to watch.
The production around it is very messy though. Far too much time wasted with nonsense interviews and the commentary was horrible. |  |

Haha, this brings back memories. My old 5-a-side team were hard-working and efficient in how we played. We had one silky player and then the rest of us were industrious with me bringing the occasional bit of flair.
I remember one team that were pretty decent (but bells) walking off after we went 4-0 up one game blaming the referee for taking our side. The next game we beat them 3-2 with the last kick of the game. The game after that they brought an absolute tank with them. He was 6ft 5 and all athletic muscle. They won that game by one goal and celebrated like it was the world cup.
It wasn't all bad though; we had one team that became our arch rivals. The games were always close, respectably played with handshakes at the end. They were slightly different to us in that they had one very skillful and quick guy, two industrious players and then a 'head it kick it' type defender.
There was also a team of Romanians, one of which had the hardest shot I've ever seen lol.
But I digress. If people enjoy it, then let them enjoy it. |  | | |

Hi, I am new here and registered as I've been watching bits of this over the past few weeks and on the whole really enjoyed it.
To give some context, I'm a 40 year old man and so not one of the younger crowd who may be more likely to be targeted by KSI and others. Although I do like some of what him and his group do, it's inventive and they've been unbelievably successful with a lot of their projects.
Anyway, I'm a bit sick of the typical football fans and general bystanders calling it "cringe" or terrible, and it should be stopped. What would you prefer, another Sky channel which is replaying the Ryder Cup from 1992? Or a replay of the Play Off semi-final between Preston and Bristol City in 2003? Because there are about 10 Sky Sports channels, with most of them showing the same content or repeats from many years ago.
The Baller League is streamed on YouTube for free and it's just another thing that's available watch - if you want.
I never watched Masters football, but do agree that would be great to see back as it sounds good. But this Baller League is just a new idea - the first season I think - and it's a bit of competition with clearly very good footballers who had to apply and do trials. It's backed by well-known footballers and is free to watch on YouTube.
Tickets to attend are only £15 (I sound like I'm being paid now... but I just looked as I was curious), and for this you get 5 hours of games which are high intensity and competitive.
Anyway, that's all. Best of luck for next season - I was pretty disappointed to see you go down, but sadly it seems that's the accepted reality by the Premier League. It's ruining football for me and the gap between the top two tiers is ridiculous. More clubs are going to be run at a loss and at risk, which I think could see some clubs and owners getting sanctioned, deducted points etc... | | | |
