That was such a hard watch on 17:36 - Apr 5 by StokieBlue | Yes. It's context. We are two seasons from League one. We need more time to develop the team and the squad. We're ahead of both the other promoted teams who have lots of historical PL money. Not really sure what some people are expecting, it's going to take time. SB |
People really should mention that we’ve come up from League One more often [Post edited 5 Apr 18:45]

It’s obvious really if you stop to think about it. Our journey has had a huge impact on the squad as it is now. We barely had time to make many established Championship signings last year and then we’re looking at suddenly having to do major surgery to try to step up to PL level. Ashton and KM have talked about it on several occasions.

Yes yes we know. Stop repeating it constantly. We are talking about today’s outcome and if there was anything we could have done differently and the approach to the second half. We matched them first half and have still managed 20 points and the odd result this season, so there must be some room for discussion in terms of analyzing the game.

That was such a hard watch on 18:03 - Apr 5 by gainsboroughblue | We fall off a cliff in the second half of our home games. It really is as predictable as it is frustrating. No way was that staying 1-0 after H/T. |
By and large we fall away after about 20 mins. Why? Because we play like an away team home and away. Why? Because we have no midfield. They neither cover the defence or support the attackers to any great degree. Sam is terrific. Good Captain and a real player, but I don’t think he’d ever had have enough for the PL without better players alongside let alone now age is catching up. Cajuste. Lovely on the ball. Silky smooth, runs well with it and scored a great goal the other day. But he looks a luxury player to me who again might show more in a better team. Fitness is poor too. Phillips? Been done to death. It’s not worked out even if it was worth the gamble. Looking at the two teams today, Wolves weren’t the best. Untidy, dark arts and very physical. But they have better players than us bar Delap. Fitter (they had an extra day rest which helped), stronger and more with better ability. It is what it is. What I don’t see is the lack of effort people are talking about. I agree with SB on that. Run out of steam, out muscled, worn down, but I won’t accept they weren’t trying. I know what that looks like. Anyway, just my view. I shall leave the forum to it. One last thing. The keeper’s error? Awful, but he’s human and it happens. He, like the others is decent enough. Nobody makes mistakes on purpose. [Post edited 5 Apr 20:34]

That was such a hard watch on 19:43 - Apr 5 with 931 views | itfcsuth | It’s a squad that certainly lacks both the quality and consistency we have seen throughout the past 2 years. Not complex, invested poorly in the squad.

That was such a hard watch on 17:13 - Apr 5 by StokieBlue | That's really harsh though. We have good quality for where we are, most other PL teams have better quality. SB |
We haven’t added £150m worth of improvements to last years squad. Operated really poorly in the past two windows, too many misses, not enough hits - that will always be severely costly in the PL when trying to bridge the gap.

We've lost the unity and the quality is nowhere near enough to cover it.

Unity only gets you so far and we have been outmuscled and out played all season. People complain about the poor tactics ( which there is a bit of ) but if you don't have the players or subs, how do change the inevitable outcome?
That was such a hard watch on 20:44 - Apr 5 with 821 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | Wolves came out in the 2nd half, got the ball down and juts dominated us. So much the better team it was scary that they are the team in 17th. Like most of the season I dont think the players necessarily did anything wrong, they just aren't at the level of those they are competing against. Its tough.

It was like playing a different side to the one we beat away though. I have no idea what was going on there first half of the season but they were a mess. Even forgetting Southampton we have lost to worse sides than that at home.
That was such a hard watch on 20:47 - Apr 5 with 816 views | Bluesky | I sadly agree with you completely. We were pushed off the ball - only Taylor showed any inclination to press high - i.e. the goalkeeper. We began hopeful punting upfield. Unproductive tinkering about at the back. We needed decisive moves upfield. Our passing was slicker and faster in League 1 to be honest.

Think everybody in that building including the players were O Neil out at the time. The new gaffer has come in and got an inevitable lift out of a good group of players. Bit like Lampard at Coventry.

But if you're going to destroy squad unity it needs to be worth it. In fairness, we won't get a true answer to that until next season. If we struggle in the Championship then the post promotion splurge will be seen as a disaster.

Texters post isn't framed as specifically discussing today's match outside of subject line. It's very general in it's content. He didn't discuss any tactics. The follow-up post from Blooos is definitely not about just today's game. Hence my general point on around the season and context. I think the responses are rather unfair in that context.
