I can't speak for the OP, but to me it is making an ironic point about what I've described above i.e. the posts would normally say "What is it you like about Tories?". The responses appear to prove the point.

yes, we all agree he's trolling; the question is whether it's a suitable thing to troll about

No - the nature of the charges make it different to corruption or blatant lies. I think all people on here find those sort of alleged offences to be replusive.

If the OP had the title - disgusting MP, hope he’s kicked out of the HoC - then most people would’ve agreed. But he didn’t, as he was taking a cheap shot on here.

I 100% agree with your first paragraph.

Even more reason to question using irony, which i believe the op has done, as to why a Tory described as corrupt or a liar is extremely prevalent on here, but a far more serious case received no attention, with the assumption that is because it wasn't a Tory.

Is it trolling when the other lot do it? Very similar thread titles and the classic 'yea but Corbyn' style titles? Is that trolling?

It seems the standards, as Badger showed on page one, are not applied equally.

Again, can't speak for the OP, but the title seems to be worded to make the exact point you make there.

It would only be irony if the OP was in line with most of the former administrations trademarks like corruption or incompetence. Instead it was about sexual offences which doesn’t make it ironic but instead is just repulsive.

I wasn’t aware of his alleged offences - had no idea about the case or situation.

Just because someone doesn’t post about every single thing on here it doesn’t really mean that much. I for one, find it much easier to post about incompetences etc than sexual offences. I might have done in the past but can’t recall doing so.

But you’re right, some posters start threads on here which amplify their views - I’m sure the OP has done so in the past as has others.

But I do object to the wording of the OP - shameful.

I think I accidentally downvoted the post which I’m replying too - apologies for that.

I do understand what you mean, and respect that point of view - but to me it makes the point stronger when its something very much worse i.e. is the reason that no-one had posted about it because they were a Labour MP, and would it have been posted immediately if it was a Tory/Reform MP.

Even more ironic that Jacob Rees-Mogg would have received several dozen critical posts on here - many I wholeheatedly agree with - yet nothing he has done compares to the alleged crimes of the person who unseated him, who up to now escapes any mention (unless there has been a flurry of posts that the OP has missed)

I understand your viewpoint but to counter that - despite what some might say on here believe, not every single poster on here is a lefty bed wetting liberal. Some posters fall into the ‘tell-it-like-it-is’ righty camp or even fall dead centre. Why didn’t they post a link to the story? Why does it fall on a leftie to post about it?

The OP didn’t need to be so inflammatory- indeed he’s bright enough to have started a discussion relating to it. But instead he chose to word it like he did.

But I do understand where you’re coming from.

the op has plenty of previous for trolling posts; if the tone had been factual and non-sensationalist i doubt it would have been met in the same way.

the criticism should be on the mp in question, not on the labour party who seem to have done exactly the right thing in this case

I put it down to the standing joke amongst most posters that a section of people will list a Tory or Reform wrongdoing within 10 seconds of the news bulletin (this may even be a driving offence) yet if it is a Labour wrongdoing they simply wont say a word.

From what I’m reading right now it seems the stock response is that at least Labour haven’t tried to cover it up, deny it or support the MP, although, I’m struggling to think of a case where opposite benches have tried to do this in a case of such magnitude.

To me, I think it is this type of action from staunch Labour supporters that makes the old fashioned traditional Labour voter not want to vote for them.

Make of that what you will.

It’s just a little bit of fun for the Tweedles.

The first one posts it, the second one runs behind with the poo bag, scoops it up and dangles it off the nearest tree branch for giggles.

Just look at it as virtual care in the community. If they weren’t on here they’d be someone else’s concern out in the real world.

I do think there's a genuine point to be made about the bias on here and how quickly Tory's are called out for things and then how things relating to Labour MP's are pretty hushed.

However, I don't think child sex offences and rape is the place to make that point.

I think it's possible to be critical of your post whilst holding the above two views at the same time.

You do have a point regarding your first paragraph but then again why should individual posters on here be criticised for not being balanced? Any member can post and raise awareness to certain issues. Not sure why a few posters are expected to be even-handed???

It’s a bit like the North Stand being quiet and then being criticised by the other three stands for not creating an atmosphere - but at the same time the other stands not standing up and singing themselves.

no, i see it very differently to that.

i wouldn't criticise the tory party for pincher's wrongdoing, but attempting to defend and protect him is a totally different thing to immediately suspending him. i'd say that's totally fair game, wouldn't you?

The really disgusting thing about Pincher was that when it was researchers and other low-ranking, young staff who he was allegedly harassing the Tories did nothing and let him continue as a Senior Whip.

It was only when he allegedly harassed an MP that action was taken.

With regards to the OP- I get the satirising of Badger in the title, I just don't think that child sex offences are the thing to do it about.

Mo's people who voted Labour on here have been fairly critical of some of what the Starmer Government have done- there aren't any Sir Keir True Believers that I can think of.

It's kind of ironic that his toadying to Trump with the letter from the King was successful at getting us a big discount on the tariffs the EU will face, and so has brought about the first quantifiable economic Brexit Benefit.

Your first bit is nonsense. With the likes of Bankster, Onceablue, Blueas, Glassers when he's not banned and several others I've forgotten, there's never a Labour misgiving (real or made up) that isn't trumpeted on here.

And not just the media. You don’t even hear from Labour themselves about anything going in the right direction. Yet they’re happy to regularly wheel Reeves out to prove she’s economically illiterate.

It’s very weird. You’d think they’d be crowing about any progress. But no.

I am not sure there is much to crow about. They inherited a pile of cr@p, they've implemented policies, which might long term prove to be the right decision but which have p!used off a chunk of the country, they don't seem to have much of plan and now the world is burning. Rather them than me 😂

Or maybe the old saying "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than open your mouth and prove it without a doubt" is appropriate here. Which is why have RR appear and talk is quite a surprising move. I heard her on R4 breakfast last week, she was truly awful in how she was replying to the questions.
