….the soon to be vacant Spurs job by talksport.

Daniel Levy is a big admirer apparently and they might be put off by the release clauses in place for their other candidates.

I'm thinking Bananarama.

Not that that's relevant at all.

This was always something I worried about. I never believed the 'his stock has fallen' or 'PL teams will be put off' lines - anyone in football knows he's an outstanding young coach.

Spurs hierarchy won't have forgotten what we did to them away from home and they will have seen us compete better than anyone had a right to expect probably.

His links with Spurs also ab huge factor. He was quite emotional about it after the Spurs game...a little bit unlike him.

As soon as the rumours that Iraola had turned it down surfaced, it was a worry. Spurs will struggle to attract an established top manager imo. KM will be attractive to them.

Apparently Nathan Jones is interested as Levy told him ‘you’ve been gone too long’.

Let him go. Mogga will lead us to Championship glory.

I heard they were talking to his people back in January but Postecoglou as obviously stuck around. I would think he's behind Iraola and Frank now but don't think it's impossible that they look to hire him. In some ways I suppose that's not the worst outcome as it should at least happen relatively quickly.

Yep. Whatever transpires, it needs to be sorted out early.

All those rumblings last summer basically cancelled out that advantage we got by knowing we were up in early May.

Spurs are a basket case and of the most in debt clubs in the country if not the most. Whilst it might be tempting I'd view it as akin to Potter going to Chelsea which was an unmitigated disaster for him professionally.

Such a thing was mentioned, but think that was before signing the new contract. Obviously, it may also have one, but not seen any figure mentioned.

Plus it is largely irrelevant, the decision will come down to whether McKenna wants to go or not.

Whether we like it or not Spurs are a bigger club than Town with a fantastic stadium. Whether like Man Utd they have just been buying the wrong players I don't know. When they had Kane as centre forward they never managed to back him up. Son is a decent player, but inconsistent. Spurs should be doing better. Whether it's a good move for someone like McKenna only time will tell. The crux of the matter is what owners regard as success and that I suppose depends on what an owner gets out of it against what he/they put in. Gamechanger I suspect would like Town to be in the Premier League and as long as they consolidate they wouldn't expect us to win the League. Bigger clubs like Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle would expect top half dozen as should Spurs.

I have Spurs up there with Man Utd for clubs where I don't think that the board support the management and are not engaged with the playing staff, so leading to a poor working relationship, not to mention that the supporters are getting so desparate for success they lose patience quickly when not winning games.

While Spurs is probably very attractive to KM with his history, I wonder whether he also values the support and opportunity to build (and patience to support him failing/learning) at Ipswich. He won't get that at Spurs.

I've turned down jobs in the past that while they seemed more attractive (more pay / larger company), when doing some digging there have been reasons not to take them and so have stayed put or taken an alternative offer.

The most ridiculous rumour being that Robert De Niro’s Waiting for Spurs to get in touch about it.

No way will he turn down Spurs or Man U.
Not that I expect either to be seriously interested in him, because he is yet to prove himself at the top level.

If we are going to concentrate more on recruiting from the foreign market, it might help to have someone talking Italian.

I’m not so sure that our biggest signings next season will be foreign. I’ve heard that Mark Ashton has already earmarked Flynn Downs as he told him ‘I want You back’.

Speaking of Potter, if West Ham bin him, I'd happily have him at ITFC if McK does go.

Project, well-backed, gets his sides playing good football.

The big shame of us not keeping up with Wolves is that there might have been a chance to relegate West Ham, Spurs or Man Utd this season. All three have stunk the league out far worse than the bottom three.

Think the bigger question is whether Spurs would want him. It would surprise me if they did at this stage.

Yes, given the failure of Postacoglu, then another 'project' manager doesn't feel like the way Levy will go.

I do NOT want our boy going to the most miserable bunch of bar stewards in Europe. I won’t allow it. Anyway they want Iraola.
