That’s alright. Make a weekend of it in Chester. There are far worse places we have to visit (Wrexham’s a dump though).

Brum and Wrexham will be stronger than the average promoted sides. Whoever doesn't go up through the play offs will be rivals. Leicester might be depending on who they get in. I wonder if there will be someone come from mid-table to do well. Could Derby or Luton if they stay up?

Luton are finding their feet under Bloomfield. I expect they’ll be a very different proposition next year. They’ve still got parachute money so now with a decent manager they could be genuine challengers.

Looking forward to that. My sister lives at the foot of the Clwydian hills a few miles from Wrexham and just in the process of getting a pub. Probably going to be impossible to get tickets but id have a great time up there

I don't have an issue with Wrexham. Being owned by a couple of slightly wacky celebrities seems a lot healthier than being owned by, say, a deeply repressive theocratic regime or actual Russian gangsters

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Bit unfair to tar a whole club, but I've always had an issue with Wrexham since we went there in the FA cup and a mate of mine got punched in the head for being English. And we couldn't get in. And they beat us.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Don't see it. Think he's a good manager but for the champ and average one at this stage of his career. I think they have lost their best players and the formula they had for success 'big, strong and powerful athletes'. I don't expect them to fight relegation next season but I also think they will be more middle of the road.

I just don’t like Welsh clubs being in the English leagues. But it is fairly close for me so swings and roundabouts.

Brum will be competitive, Wrexham have a lot of journeyman but will of course invest

The step up to the Championship is a big one, just look at how Pompey and Derby have fared

Think Luton have well underachieved could be dark horses if they stay up which they should now,

I see lots of parallels with us. Years in the doldrums, rescued by owners who seem to genuinely care and now enjoying some extraordinary times that I don't imagine they would've thought possible just 3 or 4 years ago.

Had a similar experience at that game, got in at 2nd attempt after being told 1st time round we were too pissed, to be fair we were kids and had had quite a thirst on the train there. Got started on afterwards walking back to the station

We'd gone without tickets as it was announced that you could pay-on-the-day, if I remember rightly. And then when we'd travelled all that way they changed it. Something like that. I seem to remember loads of Ipswich locked out, despite there being plenty of seats inside (we could see them).

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Rivals for what? Nothing suggests the play off loser, unless it’s Sheffield Utd, will be a rival for top 2, and certainly nothing suggests Derby will.

Luton I’d be more concerned about and I imagine Birmingham will have a bit of a go. If Sheff Utd don’t go up then it’ll be between us, Leicester, Southampton, Sheff Utd, Luton and Birmingham for the top 2. We’ll be favourites with the bookies.

That is apparently the only time we have ever played them in a competitive match.

It would be rather nice for their new supporters to get a dose of reality next season.

I think there is every chance Coventry, Bristol City, Sunderland or Middlesbrough could challenge for top 2. A lot can happen between now and the start of next season as well as over the course of the season itself. I would say Southampton and Leicester have at least as much sorting out to do as those clubs.

I would say Wrexham v Leicester is guaranteed to be the opening game. You can write the narrative now …. “Ten years ago Leicester were about to start the season that would see them crowned Premier League champions while Wrexham were playing The Dog & Duck etc etc”.
