I'd be surprised. It seems to have all calmed down a bit over there and not sure the riches on offer for a player of his profile would be inordinately large. He will be on pushing 20 grand a week here next season.

I guess you could see it coming to a head this summer but only if big money was on for us otherwise we keep and let him run down his contract presumably and everyone can decide next summer depending on status. I would have thought his leadership would be useful in a promotion challenge, either on or off pitch. If Sam was to get an offer to go to Saudi for a big payday at the end of his career, who could blame him? He’s been terrific for us. Possibly the best ITFC Captain I’ve seen and that includes Mills and Holland - one for a thread of its own methinks.
