Could be more dangerous than we think.

Potentially a fair bit of incoming fee's;

Dibling will be £50m+.

Fernandes could be £30m (ish).

Ramsdale £20m+.

Ross Stewart and Adam Armstrong decent scorers in the champ.

I agree with the premise. They will be right up there like us because of the huge financial advantage. But the players you mention do not worry me at all.

Armstrong looked like a pub player at times when he featured for West Brom this year and Ross Stewart is made of breadsticks. 27 games in 4 years.

Dibling going for more than Delap will sting but highlights the rewards to be gained by Academies developing players.

Not convinced. Wouldn't be surprised if he's gone by Christmas. Wild card option but could be good. No experience in UK

Southampton owners will keep most of the money from sales. As for Still would you want him here May be great but a terrific gamble could be a disaster.
If McKenna was to leave I'm not adverse to giving another young coach a chance but for everyone that works 4 or 5 fail.

Will he though? Southampton can talk up £50m+ as much as they want, but I’d be amazed if they got anywhere near that.

And even if they did get anywhere near that, how much would be up front, and how much would be conditional?

Tho they do have the challenge of converting those fees (if realised) into good replacements for all the talent going out of the door. Then setting it up and forging into a working team, with not even managerial continuity to work in their favour.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Dibling has had an awful second half of the season. Think Southampton will be lucky to get over £50m for him now

I don’t see why anyone would think they won’t be strong. Yes they’ve had a terrible season but they look to have made a potentially good managerial appointment, and they’ve still got a lot of good players they can either trade for decent money or keep to form a strong side. I can see Dibling and Harwood-Bellis going for big money, and no doubt they’ll reinvest a big chunk in new signings. Wouldn’t be surprised if we go toe to toe with them on a couple of players this window.

Don't disagree that they may be a risk, but they have a lot of internal issues to sort out in the closed season to avoid being a basket case again.

A quick Google suggests Man Utd were prepared to pay £100M for Dibling if they got Champions League football. Really? Liepzig are rumoured to value him at 30M Euros. That seems a far more likely price. I would imagine that whatever the fee, a lot of it will be clause-dependent as he is still very raw.

Ramsdale would be a big loss and difficult to replace. I wish we had signed him instead of Muric in the summer. He is a very good keeper. They have conceded more goals than us this season with him.

I don't think measuring money in is as good a way to judge a club's squad quality as the actual players they have.

They’ll be able to spend well over the summer and could have a real gem in their new manager. I would say they’re every bit as likely to do as well as us. But you never know. Both squads could look quite different by then. We know Kieran can do it. Their guy has impressed so far, but is an unknown for them.

It’s going to be tough to come straight back up.
