I just found one quote in a story on the Chelsea site from a couple of weeks ago, that describes the striker as raw, and injured since January. Sign him up!

La Masia graduate who has made first team appearances for Barcelona and Chelsea in his teens. Even scored for Barca on his debut. His pedigree is immense. Scored a hattrick in the conference league this year,
Had a few injury niggles last season but he is someone who is really highly thought of in the game. Very similar to Delap/Hirst. Tall, can run all day but sound technically. Can see exactly why Mckenna would be after him.
Read something a while back where he was described as a pressing machine. There probably won't be many better striker loanees available from the Prem unless Ferguson becomes available.

Yeah profile-wise seems right up McKenna's street. Would like to think Chelsea would have no qualms sending him here to develop unless they or Guiu himself would prefer a move within the PL or to a European club.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

I think he has been linked with top flight clubs before.
Mckenna has great pedigree developing young players though so that has to work in our favour. I think as you say convincing the player will be the big sell. A guy who's scored for Barcelona and for Chelsea dropping down a league. Hopefully we can because he is a great fit.

I remember that quote too - and good to see him play last night - that would be an unbelievable loan
But the bigger questions are how do you pronounce Guiu, and what chant does he get?

He’s raw, very raw.
Would need another proven ST to come in as well.
He really is not "very raw" - anyone who has seen him play more than once would realize. It would be a massive coup to get a player like Guiu to play in the Championship. Love it to be true but even for a loan bigger clubs in higher leagues are going to be interested - that's assuming Chelsea are willing to loan him out which isn't a given.

Barcelona were keen to keep him and offered new contract, but his 6 million euro buy-out clause attracted Bayern and Chelsea, they got in his head and he took the security of a 5 year deal and wage packet Chelsea were offering. Would have got more minutes if he had stayed at Barca. Closer to Hirst than Delap in style, but pacier than George.

Hirst - we know won’t complete a 46 game season Guiu - young, someone mentioned injuries
We need to bring in another striker so we have 3
Agree we want a third but really hope Hirst proves you wrong. Had a pretty good injury record before he joined us and two of his injuries since he joined have been in the 'unlucky and would have hurt anyone' category for me.

I hope he proves me wrong. I absolutely love him, him for 46 games and we go up I think.
But he plays at such a rate that I fear for his poor body!
