Yes I think he tailed off a bit and McKenna playing Hirst a bit more. I agree it's a lot for him at this stage but just think teams would pay it. Certainly done as much as Hoijlund had done and he went for more. That looks terrible business now though surely he'll get a bit better.... [Post edited 29 May 22:01]

Doubt there would be a release clause, other than if we were relegated, as the clause probably links to a wage reduction clause if relegated.
It is hard to persuade a player from a big club to take a drop in wages for relegation, without a relegation clause.

Far fewer would probably have been in for him at an inflated price. The number of clubs showing interest it probably largely down to the figure being £30M, rather than £40/50M | | | |

Yeah, he’s obviously worth around £50/60m. You just have to look at the price other young international players go for.

We would be reluctant sellers at £30M and the likes of Chelsea would see another £10M as worth the risk. I can't see anyone paying more than £40M for him right now. Cunha is proven at this level much more than Delap and is apparently going for £60M.

Cunha is going for £62m because that's what his release clause is. A bidding war would no doubt push that figure higher
