I've never watched it in my life and having asked many people fromdifferent walks of life, black and white rich and poor, nobody watches it. I do not understand how it survives?? Do you watch the rubbish?

I started watching it with my daughters when they were younger and have continued to do so out of habit. This series has been the poorest in a while as the stories have become secondary to the message. A message I tend to agree with but ultimately for the message to work the stories need to be strong and in general they haven't been.
The best episode of this series was the one in the cinema where the big animated thing went rogue.

I used to watch it avidly as a kid. Tom Baker was the first Dr I really remember, followed by Peter Davidson. I stopped watching towards the end of the Colin Baker era and didn't bother with the Eccleston reboot, but into it again with David Tennant. Haven't missed an episode since. My kids have grown up with it too. For balance we've thoroughly enjoyed the latest incarnation. The constant throwbacks are well worked in to the stories. Granted it's all a little far fetched and sometimes muddled, but it's simple escapism and there doesn't seem much wrong with that. Not so much aimed at this post nor you Blueas, but some of contributions to this thread have been quite unpleasant. Unecessarily so.

OP: TV show I've never watched is rubbish, and I don't understand how it's still on the telly because I've never met any of the 3m people who watch it.
First reply: Used to be good back in the day, but not a fan now because the show has started including characters that reflect our diverse society.

Adding to the OP discussion, I used to watch the odd show in the Tom Baker era, but was too young at the time to remember any of it now and never appealed to me since; but I have family members who are big fans and eagerly await all the new series / episodes.
For the subsequent discussion about the first reply which seems to have taken over half the thread, poster hasn't said anything xenophobic. They have decided to wear their own xenophobia like a badge of honour though (which according to some later replies was common knowledge anyway), so probably deserves pity in the replies rather than anger.
