It was misinterpreted, don't you know ? Musk was saluting the gods of ancient Rome and it just looked like a Nazi salute to those who didn't study the Classics...

Say one thing about Musk, his mum was a mustard darts player...

I need to visit that classic website “the death list” to see if there are any South African Canadian American types on there .. if not this year , I expect he’ll appear on there next year … if he makes it , especially now his alleged drug habit has been exposed coincidentally in the last days … I mean accidents do happen.

Breaking news.

Following phone calls to Putin and Xi Jinping White House staff have now scheduled a phone call with the world's richest man. Peace is breaking out all over the world.

Notable that Trump usually hits back 5 times as hard to anyone that goes after him. Elon obviously has ridiculous wealth and rather a large audience. Looks like for the first time de-escalation will be the strategy but this is a pretty big statement from Musk letting the administration know he’s up for mixing it.

One might conclude that the stuff about the drugs use etc may have come from within after a fallout about the bill or vocal criticism of the tariffs, that’s usually how this stuff works.

I would not be surprised to see Musk start entering politics independently. In the last 12 months he has been bought into the election process and then the gvmt for a few months and seen how things work from the inside, does not need external financial backing or support.

He already has a cult following - this may end up being something similar to how Reform has positioned itself in the UK, but in a far more effective and strategic approach as he is more politically astute than some people give him credit for.

Build his platform built on innovation, technology, and sustainability trying to appeal to reasonably broad audience, have a leadership team of experts and advocates, and develop grassroots support through social media and public events.

The biggest challenge would be how he gets ballot access, and would require support/partnerships with local political groups as he would need to start through participation in local elections, leading to ability to field candidates in state and national races.

Wonder what we will see as we head towards the mid-terms at local and state levels.

I'm enjoying the fallout as though it will make the world better in some way, but I can't really explain how.

I can see him also becoming more politically motivated and his new hobby , just not sure who would go along for the ride with him and if he has the patience to wait for a decade or two before the electorate would take voting for his party and then the big thing who would run knowing they would be his puppet and everybody else knowing too.

He would also need somebody to stand in as Presidential candidate, given he can't run himself.

As a Tesla shareholder this is extremely disappointing. Would have happily seen them crash 75% for those two to destroy each other.

Truly impaired.

Maybe Mr. Trump's lawyers have had a word. If Musk doesn't have evidence for the Epstein tweet he'd be in pretty deep water I'd have thought.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

It would not be beyond the realm of possibility that this was an engineered spat designed to drop Tesla share price so they could cash in by buying Tesla stocks low.

Rumour on the conspiracy web is that Trump’s buddy Vlad is the one that’s got something on him. That could be nonsense of course, but I feel it’s important to spread unverifiable paranoia on the internet

It's not in Musk's interest as his wealth is intrinsically tied with Tesla stock. He's lost a ton of money. Trump and his inner circle, meanwhile, have almost certainly profited off the volatility of the stock market...that in addition to his grift coin...and his jumbo jet
