What with the kids being at school and with me working from home, today was the perfect day to skive off and do something worthwhile like mowing the lawn. Instead I decided to roll back the years and embark on some breathtaking keepie-uppie skills.
After a fair few attempts I managed to get in the swing of things and complete 215 keepie-uppies. Unfortunately I was rudely interrupted by a pointless work call.
Anyway, what’s your personal record at keepie-uppies?

Could do about 60 odd when I was a kid. Think my best trick though was when the keeper would boot the ball up field and if no one was challenging I could trap the ball, or just take it on the thigh.
My worst moment was defending a corner - went for a diving header, messed it up and landed on the ball, winding myself. Manager was screaming at me to clear it - I was just rolling round in agony. Still have nightmares about it :-)
My son did 1,000 during a bored moment during Covid…just because he could. He would have gone on, but was getting more bored. Definitely doesn’t get his skills off me.

Takes after his mum, right?
That’s a sh1tload. Does he play at a high level?
My boy is a very good footballer (also takes after his mum) but no way he could do that.

Doesn’t play at all now. But he is very skilful. And he’s bloody annoying: he’ll go in the garden with shed shoes on or barefoot, and he still just juggles the ball without any problem!

Used to be able to do close to 1000 when I was at school, (12/13 yo) Only reason was I was bullied at school and the tw@ts who were the ones that did were in the school football team. With that being the case I never wanted to be in the team so I’d spend days just practising keep-ups on my own.

Just for some balance, my record was 300 (you do get bored) but I would also add that I was an awful footballer.
I didn't start until I was 15/16 and was 18 before I signed for my first team (was sailing almost daily beforehand)
Because I didn't have the background playing, I'd spend hours in the back garden practicing or kicking against the wall.
From the outside, people would see me doing keep ups and think "he must be good" the reality was....other than being quicker than most people, it was the only thing I could do...pretty pointless on a pitch lol!
Haven't even kicked a ball in a year or more so much as socially, but confident I could pop out between 30-50 within 10 mins of trying.
Might actually do that.
Anyone got a ball I can borrow?
