Al Hamadi 22:01 - Jul 29 with 2800 views | LeoMuff | Reading the reports seems Ali did pretty well tonight, I wouldn’t be unhappy with him being our 3rd no 9 option this season.

Al Hamadi on 22:12 - Jul 29 with 2442 views | Churchman | The supporters would. Muric is the current target and when he’s been hounded out AAH will be the next in the frame for the haters. I personally think he’s had raw deal from so called supporters here.
Al Hamadi on 22:17 - Jul 29 with 2391 views | LeoMuff | He has something and can cause championship defenders problems, better then a young loan I would say

Al Hamadi on 22:20 - Jul 29 with 2305 views | _clive_baker_ | Without meaning to sound too harsh I hope not. Get him out on loan and go balls deep on some help for Hirst. Get Hackney as well and keep hold of Omari and we’ll win this league, slapping Norwich twice in the process.
Al Hamadi on 22:32 - Jul 29 with 2096 views | tractor_lady | He wasn’t great and isnt good enough IMO, was off side when he scored and fumbled several other shots…. For a low/middle table team he would be fine but absolutely not a top championship striker… Muric however showed tonight how good he can be with some excellent distribution and one great save.

We need another striker in the building but we need 3. For me the cost to replacement him as a 3rd striker doesn't really make sense when he is having a good pre-season and looking bang up for the challenge. I'd keep him and invest more on one striker rather than two.

Al Hamadi on 22:46 - Jul 29 with 1904 views | Bellevue_Blue | I wasn't convinced. Worked hard, put himself about and had a few nice touches, took his goal well but a few poor touches, spurned a couple of chances and didn't link the team particularly well. We have to be happy with him starting games for Ipswich Town, 3rd choice or not and at present, I'm not sure he's quite got enough to impact games in the way we need our striker to do so. Personally I think a loan to a top 2 League 1 team would do him the world of good.
Al Hamadi on 07:09 - Jul 30 with 1520 views | FrimleyBlue | My fear for Al is that he's another version of bonne. Can score some goals but other than that he gets offside and causes issues for town more than the opposition. I do hope I'm wrong in that as with anyone we bring in you want it to work but when we are looking at players who can become prem players within 12 months that doesn't seem to be hamadi. As a third or 4th option im OK with it in the champ. But I hope we don't go into the season with only he and Hirst as options.

Al Hamadi on 07:16 - Jul 30 with 1491 views | baxterbasics | Third choice fine with me. But is AAH going to be happy with that? Think it might be better for him if he's starting or at least in serious contention to start for some other team, albeit this may mean a drop down a league, or to an expected Championship struggler.

We definitely need at least one quality striker as cover / competition for Hirst. And then another decent striker as cover / bench option when either Hirst or new person isn’t available. Not sure AAH is that option.

Al Hamadi on 08:01 - Jul 30 with 1303 views | Reuser_is_God | A half decent performance in a friendly & all of a sudden he’s okay. Unfortunately he’s absolutely miles off it & we should upgrade him this window if we can.

This is so true. Dating back to the Scowcroft fiasco back in the 90s, it seems that some of our fanbase need to have a target, to make them a proper fan. The booing of Muric last night (it did happen, I was there) was utterly pathetic.

He isn’t for me. It’s all very well saying ‘3rd choice’ but we know the physical output of that role and the rotation that brings. 1 & 2 will yin yang in terms of starts and off the bench, it effectively makes Ali first reserve in the event of injury or suspension, and given Hirst’s history with injuries I doubt we will be massively comfortable with that irrespective of a couple of pre season friendlies. I can’t see him being here by the time the window closes tbh.
Al Hamadi on 08:06 - Jul 30 with 1242 views | Dubtractor | Lots of effort from him, but he stood out as below the level we need last night. His first touch in particular just isnt good enough.

Al Hamadi on 09:38 - Jul 30 with 925 views | cressi | It's horrible but at present no way can he be back up to Hirst. We need better to bring on after 60 plus minutes or someone better than Hirst or shares the minutes between them.

Looked very tidy, and did the simple things instinctively and quickly, ie quick passes to prevent the opposition getting into position easily. I reckon he'll be a good addition.

Al Hamadi on 09:58 - Jul 30 with 828 views | SomethingBlue | Maybe, the important thing is that we don't go into the season with him as our second option and that is starting to appear likely – desperately need a striker, not to be number two to Hirst but to compete directly with him.

Al Hamadi on 10:28 - Jul 30 with 694 views | blueoutlook | We need a decent striker who can compete with Hirst. Hirst will miss games that’s pretty obvious. So it needs to be a good striker coming in. We have needed this for absolutely ages so why nothing at all seems to be happening in that department is bizarre. A young premiership player with no experience in a first team environment isn’t the answer in such an important position. We can’t wait half a season for them to adjust to the team we need someone who is up and at it straight away.

Think we need that Hirst competition come what may. I think we need 3 strikers and I don’t see a better realistic option than AAH tbh

Herein lies the problem - to get in someone happy to accept they are third in line for a one man position, and for them to be a better prospect than AAH! Tough to do. Regardless, it's getting the clear 2nd choice / Hirst competition in that matters most, then we can relax a little about who is or isn't number 3.

I agree, probably needs to be another young player and likely from an international market who would be happy to be in a development role. I also think one of these ST has to have a real physical profile ala Kieffer Moore. He was so effective on loan and equally last year for Sheffeild United, just had a knack of bringing technical players into it and scoring good goals. I'm not suggesting Oli Mcburnie but someone in that mould.

Al Hamadi on 11:35 - Jul 30 with 385 views | Rimsy | The trouble if we don't sign another striker, is when Hirst gets injured (and thus far when he's out it's invariably for a few weeks), then Al Hamadi would be the No.1 striker. I wouldn't be comfortable with him leading the line for any length of time. As third choice used sparingly he be OK.

Maybe we wont have someone for start of the season, but hopefully before the transfer window closes. Striker is a priority position. Hirst is yet to have a season with us where he hasn't been out for a long spell so that's a big worry.
