You are Luke Woolfenden, and I claim my five pounds.

Think he's been treated pretty poorly to be honest - didn't really put a foot wrong in the Premier League yet was moved aside at the first opportunity. Imagine Championship clubs will be looking at him though not sure how much we'll get.

Me too. It very much seemed to benefit the club but not him.

Thought it was a West Ham fan for some reason? Could be muddling him up with someone else.

Woolfenden on 16:18 - Jul 30 with 6476 views | jasondozzell | I trust KM's judgement but I really struggle to understand the approach to Wolfy and Broady alike. Wolfy is for my money the most consistent CB over the past 4 years. A really classy player, rolls Royce like at times. He's never had a poor spell imo. Would be very sad to see him go. Especially with the local link.

Has he? O’Shea is clearly our best RCB.

I think, if we played with a three, Woolfenden would be the first player on the team sheet. He works so well in the middle and our best run last season came with that approach. I personally felt McKenna abandoned it too quickly. In a two, I think O'Shea has.a touch more pace which swings it for him. And Woolfenden is getting to the point, like Broadhead, where he wants first team football.

Personally. I think you need to see the type of team KM is putting together and if it's not this window it'll be another one where wolfy goes. A solid cb. A good back up. Not a starter and if he wants to play weekly then a move away makes the most sense for him. Sad for town as he is a solid back up.

It's a catch 22. When we got promoted to the PL we had to improve the squad. We did that with Jack Clarke, Jaden Philogene and Dara O'Shea. That's 55 odd million quid just on those three. KM and the club are under pressure to make them work and generate further value for the club. Playing those two over the three new boys would have made little to no sense but in fairness to KM he gave both of them a decent run out at times last year. I too hope he does not go and I'd love to see him start games this season. However, we always had to recruit hard and those players were always going to come in over the top of Woolfy and Broady.

I think we should have stuck with a back three for longer. Though, personal opinion, I don't think O'Shea is that much better than Woolfenden from what we saw last season. I think some (not saying yourself) judge him from his struggles during Lambert's time here.

You say that, but McKenna felt the need to spend £12m to bring another centre half in who ultimately played ahead of him.

Love him to bits and what a job he's done for his hometown club, forever a hero in my eyes, he is synonymous with so much of what the last few years have meant and that will be felt especially keenly by all of us who grew up in Ipswich. But it's a ruthless game and O'Shea is just a notch better in the same position while having those captaincy traits we badly need at the moment. Great innings here for Woolfy having come back from the dead more than once but he deserves to star every week somewhere else, if we can get a proper fee (and I'm talking at least what's being touted for Broadhead) it's right we let him move on. He's done what he set out to do here. [Post edited 30 Jul 16:26]

Except for the obvious fact that we don't play it out from the back anywhere near as well with O'Shea in the team.
