Certainly no shock. He clearly has little interest in joining us and seems intent on remaining unless he gets a Prem move. Which he probably will last minute to someone like Sheff United. That way he can remain living in the shiithole that is Middlesbrough. |  | | |

Doesn't mean it didn't happen, just a bit strange.
Also seems strange that someone makes an 8-10 hour round-trip to somewhere if they have no intention of considering a move.
However it is at the point where it's seeming unlikely and we probably need to consider other targets.

Surely not that uncommon? We have a few genuine ITKers on here seemingly for example.
I share your sentiments though - doubt this gets done, at least not for now. Hopefully we have plans B,C and D ready and primed.

He needs a new agent then to have allowed a deal to progress via club and agent on wages to this extent only to decide he doesn’t want to come at the last minute once he’s met everyone.
I’m not buying that!
I could see that his arrival is a bit dependent on say OH staying and he’s not been given that confidence by the club at this stage, therefore doesn’t know what he’s being asked to sign up to squad wise and is waiting that to conclude. | |

I cant imagine him being so blunt to a fan about thier career, we know he would rather a PL move thats hes said, will he stay at boro and pass up prob 4 times the wages possibly but again knowing transfers unlikely, the club are fully aware till hes said he will come at any moment a club from the PL could bid and us not get him, i think going hard after jens is wise as it protects us from whatever happens, if he doesnt have a PL by end of aug he can still come here but we are not hurt in the mean time. | | | |

It is understandable if he has lived there all his life, Boro have some decent players and a manager that has recent won promotion with Luton.
It is certainly not a 'no brainer' move for him.
However, it does seem the club is happy to sell him, so they don't exactly want him it seems. He will also be increasing his salary a fair bit too, and with no certainty in football, that might end up being a sensible move for him. There is no guarantees in football, and his last seasons form, he may not reproduce. | |

We know he isn't keen. 😅 It's whether he's willing, and whether we're still willing if he responds affirmatively some date in the future. I'd be disappointed if this was an either/or situation, as much as anything because I believe we can definitely accommodate both over a grueling schedule.
Staying at Boro would be bold. He's already posted a great season in his eyes and not generated the degree of interest he'd hoped for. I'd like us to make clear in our negotiating position that we wouldn't be a potential suitor next summer. | | | |

Not really - plenty of wrong and duff info makes its way here too. Sometimes via the club intentionally I think.
Always cautious when I hear stuff not on here and where I share it, even if I know it’s supposedly come from someone at the club. I doubt anyone directly employed or friends with a player etc is careless enough for long.
