A shame Hutchinson is choosing to go out like this… on 22:19 - Aug 2 by BarcaBlue | This is the thing though, we really don't know where negotiations might be, we don't know what conversations have been had, what offer might have been accepted and not yet reported, and until we do it's all assumption and conjecture and accusations of downing tools, throwing toys out of a pram, and pure guesswork and premature til things get clearer. |
Every single man and their dog knew about the first bid, those leaks don't get suddenly plugged. In addition, the media aids Brentford in this situation in further unsettling the club/ player. If there had been a second bid as of Friday when he choose not to travel, we would all know about it. All this 'preparing a new bid' as we've seen with Wissa/ Isak is not about anything other than further unsettling the player.

Omari has earnt approx 104 x the average annual wage over the last two seasons with us I don't subscribe to the financially secure guff sorry sorry ive replied to the wrong part of this post but you get my drift - he won't be shopping in Aldi if he ends up staying here [Post edited 2 Aug 22:56]

A shame Hutchinson is choosing to go out like this… on 22:55 - Aug 2 with 1628 views | itfcsuth | Have no problem with Omari wanting to continue his development at the best level he can, first and foremost. However, I never like the idea of any player forcing moves/refusing to play, doesn’t sit right with me. But I also see the viewpoint from both the club and player to not risk injury if a big money move is close on the horizon, I remember Szmodics being in the same situation last year. Wrap it up early next week, £40m is ridiculous money for him I still believe that, has so much development still to learn in his game, especially at PL level - but such is the crazy numbers we see in the market these days.

It's not just the amount that has been bid but clauses, payment terms and loads of stuff we never hear about. We didn't get information on Delap's relegation clause til 9 months after he signed, for Omari it was over 12 months. We may or may not have been happy with the fee but negotiations aren't only going to be centred on a difference of a few million.

In what way has he done us proud ? We have done him VERY proud. He’ll be the one laughing with the multimillion salary. We have taken him from zero to hero. He’s very average to be honest.

Absolutely ! £37.5m for that is an absolute piss take ! In fact it’s hilarious ! Decent as a championship player. Had what? 5 decent prem games ? Good riddance.

You know and I know that if the clubs were actively discussing a deal that was even remotely close, KM would not have used the language that he used today ... “Omari, with the speculation around his future at the moment, he didn’t feel mentally in the right place to come for the game". He has been consistently honest with us as a fanbase and he certainly would not single out one of his players like that in a way that he knows will be negatively perceived if the club had anything to do with him not being apart of it.

This. We all know McKenna is both shrewd and intelligent. He phrased the response in this way because he wants it known Hutchinson made the call. Not a joint decision - Hutchinson alone. "Omari didn't feel mentally in the right place to come for the game".

A shame Hutchinson is choosing to go out like this… on 19:48 - Aug 2 by SitfcB | Absolutely no loyalty in football anymore. A big shame. |
There’s never ever been loyalty in football when big money or playing at the very top is involved, he knows if he gets injured there’s no move, and I think if he is interested the club are better to let him sit it out and get the money. You can’t blame a young lad for taking an opportunity, imagine if we have a poor season, the chance may never come again. Let’s take the money, and wish him well. [Post edited 3 Aug 6:46]

A shame Hutchinson is choosing to go out like this… on 20:04 - Aug 2 by Herbivore | Last season's squad would have walked the Championship though. We are short in a couple of areas and are evidently working to reinforce in those areas but we're in a strong position. |
McKenna has alluded to it at least twice now - there is going to be plenty of change between now and the end of the month. I make it another 6-7 signings, IMHO.

How are they going to fit into the squad? We all know we need a couple of CMs (one if Cajuste signs) and a striker. If Omari goes, he needs replacing. Possibly loan a versatile full back for extra cover if the Townsend injury is serious. Not sure where else we need signings or how we make them fit into a 25 man squad?

If 7 come in, 10 need to go out. Hard to see that happening. 3-4 in, 6-7 out is more plausible. Some being loans ofc.

Broadhead will clearly go. Al-Hamadi, Johnson and Humphrey’s all have interest, as does Woolfie. That’s before you get to our keeper situation. Easily 6-7 in.

Can't see all of those players going, also don't see Humphreys or Broadhead as needing replacing if they do go, and not sure we've got room in the squad to replace them either. I guess we'll know soon enough but I don't think we're aiming/hoping for that level of churn.

A shame Hutchinson is choosing to go out like this… on 22:03 - Aug 2 by LankHenners | Unfortunately this will be an agent-driven negotiation tactic to get the big money move for his client. Seen it happen with bigger profile players already this summer. Can't imagine Omari wants to invite the inevitable reaction to this but he'll have had his representatives in his ear telling him what he has to do to get what he wants. |
Can't believe it took four pages for someone to mention his agent, he will be advising him no doubt, I don't think players ever downed tools before these agents came along..

Key word there though Is advised. Players don't need to take that advice. We've seen it with simpson who now admits he made the wrong choice. That was agent advice. Agents get a hefty commission. Their best interests are never the players. That's agent rule no. 1 and why Hackneys agent was playing silly bugers. Hackney was going to get 3 times his salary with town with promotion a big possibility.. but no. Let's wait for a prem move. You'll get 35k. I'll get 100k myself and you'll be on loan to the championship in the Jan window.

If that's what the agent is saying to Hackney then he will refuse to play for Boro once the season starts. Otherwise there would be a risk he breaks the two club rule for the season. I wonder if a Premier League side may sign him then loan him back to Boro for the season, though.

He doesn't need to take that advice true but he'll be in his ear reminding him not to risk any possibilities on his "dream Prem move"...at 21 I can imagine he'd take that advice, even if the move doesn't happen it's not as if we'd suddenly hold it against him, he'd still be here for this coming season, as our top boy too..

Cannot let Broadhead go currently. Heard Philogene has done ankle ligaments, could be a bad one.

A shame Hutchinson is choosing to go out like this… on 19:53 - Aug 2 by SitfcB | Won’t be surprised but there’s ways of going about it isn’t there. I don’t think he should leave what he has here for Brentford though, to be honest. We’ve given him his ‘big break’ and he didn’t exactly set the world alight last season (unlike Delap) so just feel he should stay here, have a brilliant season in the Championship and can go again with us in the Premier League or go next summer and have his pick of the clubs. |
Spot on. I get the feeling Homer may be related to Omari he’s blowing so much smoke up his aris! He did not have a brilliant season whatsoever. Was at the centre of a many, many promising moves breaking down. Very lightweight, easily bullied off the ball, easily tackled. Basically out of his depth at Prem level as most of our boys were/are. He was fantastic in the Championship and will be again. I think he clearly has ideas above his station and had his head turned this summer whilst with the U21s. I imagine him and Hackney are mates and Hackney knows Omari wants out so that may have had a big influence in Hackney turning us down. Let him go. £30m will do.
