This is the thing though, we really don't know where negotiations might be, we don't know what conversations have been had, what offer might have been accepted and not yet reported, and until we do it's all assumption and conjecture and accusations of downing tools, throwing toys out of a pram, and pure guesswork and premature til things get clearer. |

Have no problem with Omari wanting to continue his development at the best level he can, first and foremost. However, I never like the idea of any player forcing moves/refusing to play, doesn’t sit right with me. But I also see the viewpoint from both the club and player to not risk injury if a big money move is close on the horizon, I remember Szmodics being in the same situation last year.
Wrap it up early next week, £40m is ridiculous money for him I still believe that, has so much development still to learn in his game, especially at PL level - but such is the crazy numbers we see in the market these days. |  | | |

We didn't get information on Delap's relegation clause til 9 months after he signed, for Omari it was over 12 months. There’s never ever been loyalty in football when big money or playing at the very top is involved, he knows if he gets injured there’s no move, and I think if he is interested the club are better to let him sit it out and get the money. Last season's squad would have walked the Championship though. We are short in a couple of areas and are evidently working to reinforce in those areas but we're in a strong position. |

How are they going to fit into the squad? We all know we need a couple of CMs (one if Cajuste signs) and a striker. If Omari goes, he needs replacing. Possibly loan a versatile full back for extra cover if the Townsend injury is serious. Not sure where else we need signings or how we make them fit into a 25 man squad? |  |

Unfortunately this will be an agent-driven negotiation tactic to get the big money move for his client. Seen it happen with bigger profile players already this summer.
Can't imagine Omari wants to invite the inevitable reaction to this but he'll have had his representatives in his ear telling him what he has to do to get what he wants. |

If that's what the agent is saying to Hackney then he will refuse to play for Boro once the season starts. Otherwise there would be a risk he breaks the two club rule for the season.

Won’t be surprised but there’s ways of going about it isn’t there.
I don’t think he should leave what he has here for Brentford though, to be honest.
We’ve given him his ‘big break’ and he didn’t exactly set the world alight last season (unlike Delap) so just feel he should stay here, have a brilliant season in the Championship and can go again with us in the Premier League or go next summer and have his pick of the clubs. |

He did not have a brilliant season whatsoever. Was at the centre of a many, many promising moves breaking down. Very lightweight, easily bullied off the ball, easily tackled. Basically out of his depth at Prem level as most of our boys were/are.
He was fantastic in the Championship and will be again. I think he clearly has ideas above his station and had his head turned this summer whilst with the U21s.
I imagine him and Hackney are mates and Hackney knows Omari wants out so that may have had a big influence in Hackney turning us down. Let him go. £30m will do. | | | |
