Hope we use Tuesdays game to our advantage 08:20 - Aug 10 with 1916 views | muccletonjoe | It's not a game for fringe players. Half the players didn't look fit on friday. Get some cohesive team play going instead of chucking the game to the wind.

I imagine Ogbene played far more minutes than they'd have wanted him to (or he looked up to) on Friday - so do they rest him Tuesday so he's more ready for whatever role there is for him on Sunday? Bit the same with Young - depending on whether they view him as as a starter or a sub and how they're managing his minutes.

Hope we use Tuesdays game to our advantage on 08:41 - Aug 10 with 1700 views | bsw72 | Not fit, are you joking?!? The pace of Friday’s game was relentless with Brum chasing down and harassing, and we kept up with all of it, and when the Brum players were going down with cramp all over the pitch, we were taking the game to them without issues. Fitness was not a problem on Friday. Edit for further clarification: the issue was sharpness not fitness, related but distinct requirements. Fitness is all about a player’s physical shape – their stamina, energy, and how ready their body is for a match. Sharpness is more about the mind – being switched on, tactically aware, and able to play at the pace and intensity of real competition. [Post edited 10 Aug 8:52]

Hope we use Tuesdays game to our advantage on 10:32 - Aug 10 with 1249 views | SuperBlue1998 | I must admit I didn't think we looked unfit Friday - we ended the game on top and with lots of energy, and it was Birmingham who looked less well conditioned. I would be very surprised if we don't see a heavily rotated team on Tuesday | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Completely disagree on that front- Birmingham looked far more energetic first half, it was only when they took all their attacking threats off that we dominated possession

Walton Kipre - Woolfenden - Baggott - Humphreys Barbrook - Cajuste Al-Hamidi - Chaplin - Broadhead Mendel Perhaps Buabo up front. Have no idea who is available from the U21s.

The likelihood of us even wanting to go far in this competition is minimal given our first priority is promotion and with the squad maybe losing one or two more, injuries etc we don't want fringe players injured in a nothing game.

Think the only thing that might be different is playing Cajuste and Azor in the middle. Played together before but KMc will take time to build that partnership again.

Hope we use Tuesdays game to our advantage on 12:05 - Aug 10 with 866 views | The_Realist_09 | We're light on depth as it is, no chance he plays a full XI. Ogbene looked like he needs to shift 3 stone of muscle to be able to move, very strange.

Not quite sure how this is relevants to what I'd said - I was merely replying to the claim that "half the players' looked unfit which seems unfair given how we ended the game. Whilst I agree with what you say, Birmingham's intensity in the first half and their substitutions in the second half (which I think were in response to them running out of energy a bit) don't seem linked to this point. If you are suggesting half our players looked unfit that's another matter and one I would challenge

Think it’s good for giving fringe players minutes like Woolf, Kipre who may get little if the first choice stays fit/in form

Hope we use Tuesdays game to our advantage on 13:38 - Aug 10 with 608 views | Nutkins_Return | Absolutely not. The last thing we need are l important players to get injured in this. We do need to look to win it but there won't be risks taken here and we need the squad so they need minutes. Hopefully Jens can get on for the last 20-25 or so but I doubt he will start either as he's not had a pre-season. Expect complete changes. 9-10 changes I would think minimum.

Walton Johnson Wolfy Kipre Baggott Barbrook Humphries Clarke Broady Chappers AAH U21s If there is a fit striker or RW play them up and shift AAH in either position to accommodate the gap. Understanding is the Cajuste needs training pitch build up time. If Jaden is fit perhaps he could do minutes.

Hope we use Tuesdays game to our advantage on 14:41 - Aug 10 with 413 views | positivity | don't think it'd be a great idea to risk the players who don't have an alternative in the squad yet (hirst/davis) or those coming back from injury (ogbene, maybe szmodics) can't see broady or hutch being cup-tied either also this could be the only chance for some time for players like woolf/walton/kipre to get some game time. i think it'll be mix and match, not the first choice team, but not the kids either

Hope we use Tuesdays game to our advantage on 14:54 - Aug 10 with 333 views | Vic | That was exactly what I thought after Friday evening. But I bet it won’t happen. And I’ll be just as mystified as I am every season! Surely players don’t need a rest and others don’t ‘need minutes’ at this point in the season. Get the first team playing, get them used to real competitive games together. It’s the only way.
