Tick tock Ashton on 22:14 - Aug 12 with 2715 views | DavoIPB | Some of the signings have been strange. However can see the plan. Make money for the owners. Replace with less expensive players. Leave squad in worse condition. Owners sell club Ashton moves on.
Tick tock Ashton on 22:14 - Aug 12 with 2693 views | pointofblue | Enough money has been spent on this squad, mainly on players who McKenna wanted. The issue is the heart has been ripped out in the (understandable) pursuit of improvement, and we now have individuals rather than a team.

Hurts even more when you realise we paid fees for likes of Ali and Clarke…and our best performers like Broadhead will soon be gone.

Tick tock Ashton on 22:17 - Aug 12 with 2510 views | davblue | I thought you had gone on leave after letting us know Omari was staying. It’s nearly up there with Coppinger Mrs… Confidence looks very low atm it needs time but I’m quite convinced we won’t hit the top 2 this year even with a good end to the window. Our recruitment over the last 14 months is really starting to look very average. [Post edited 12 Aug 22:43]

Tick tock Ashton on 22:19 - Aug 12 with 2410 views | kizaitfc | Very concerning where we have ended up given the apparent money we have to spend. We had an agreed bud with Boro for Hackney, are we still planning to spend that? If Hutchinson doesn't want to be here, cash in on £35m and spend on players that do want to be here

Tick tock Ashton on 22:21 - Aug 12 with 2292 views | berkstractorboy | I get all the be patient, signings will come, etc but we have looked appalling in these last 2 games. No heart, not fighting for the badge. The players who once responded to a Morsy rally cry don't look bothered. I worry the reports Leif is happy to stay, but a couple more of these performances before end August and he may well be keen on a PL offer. You just sense it's not right at the moment, it doesn't feel together, its just individuals and not a team. Lots of work to do for sure.
Tick tock Ashton on 22:21 - Aug 12 with 2292 views | Parky | Absolutely spot on. We were relegated basically in February, it’s not like he’s not had sufficient time. Yes, there’s still some time left, but the games between now and when the window closes are worth the same amount of points as those later in the season. Relying on players like Taylor, Humphreys, Ali & even Barbrook when we’re a club with parachute payments & selling Delap for good money, isn’t good enough.

It's not good to be relying on as many 'League 1 hero's' as we have to start the season, that's for sure. Considering we spent 130-140M last year and we are a parachute club! At least our fans want Travis back though! Our recruitment has been really suspect in multiple positions, I pray for them more than me that Philogene becomes really good for us. I don't care about going out but if ever we needed to brush away lowly opposition with confidence boosting performance for multiple players, tonight was it.

Yep. I refuse to believe we're still sat here waiting on all our Plan A targets. And, if we are, tonight's performance suggests we may need to seriously move to Plan B to give us the depth we desperately need, fast.

Maybe he's just not the manager we thought he was, or his luck has ran out. How many wins this year? Also surely when confidence is this low play a stronger team to build it up this result will help nothing

We also have replaced fighters with bottlers imo. We hand-picked players who, 2 years ago, weren't good enough for their respective teams to even make the playoffs when we finished on 96 points.

Personally I agree, if he was that good he would be at higher levels previously. I've said to a few people for a while, he reminds be of the top sales guy at work that win's one amazing account that lives off that success a while. He got KM so right and that's been the main reason we have gone to the heights we have but recruitment and closing deals we just seem a bit out of our depth at times. Just my opinion. I think we need a much bigger more expansive team to compete in that area. I don't know the actual set up though in detail.

Tick tock Ashton on 22:30 - Aug 12 with 1876 views | TheBoyBlue | We've got Akpom. We've got Cajuste. We've got Matusiwa. We've got Young who straightaway has added much needed experience. I imagine there will still be a couple of signings to come, especially if Hutchinson and Broadhead go. He's not exactly sat on his hands. How quickly everyone has forgotten what he has done here.

I agree with your last couple of sentences. Ashton should stick with being a CEO/Chair and not a faux director of football too.
Tick tock Ashton on 22:32 - Aug 12 with 1757 views | RIPbobby | Perhaps we should call Paul Cook and ask him what 5 players we should buy. KM will do the rest.
