Yes, needs a few more chances before being written off but he'll need to show something very soon, he is a waste of a shirt right now. The difference in quality Philogene has compared to Clarke is startling. I'd definitely drop Clarke for now and see if he can make an impact off the bench and try to build his confidence that way. |  | | |

That's massively over the top and negative. I get the hint of truth in the middle of it. He's quite lightweight and isn't a marauding type, and his size and demeanor sometimes add to the feeling of doing around him.
However, he has proved again and again that he clearly is a superb footballer in what he does, across multiple clubs. It's possibly a struggle to get that skill in absolute alignment with the hustle and bustle of the championship. But he is definitely a hugely skillful player. |  | | |

Definitely a confidence player low on confidence. Looked better on the right in the first half than last week on the left. He did enough to get us our goal too. Without his contribution we would have lost 0-1 (unless whoever played in his place had done as well or better but I can't see an option for us today who would have done). |  |

Reading this I'm remembering how some of our fans wrote off Chris Wood when we had him on loan, now he's an established Premier League striker.
Your view on whether Jack Clarke is a footballer is kinda outweighed by him being superb at this level with Sunderland, so there is tangible proof he is a very good Championship player.
Him trying to find his feet with us and lacking a bit of confidence is a long long way from him "not being a footballer". [Post edited 17 Aug 15:30]

Oh for sure, he wasn't that good for us, but he had been an absolute beast for Millwall before us and is now showing the player he can be. But he got written off as a terrible footballer just because he wasn't that good in a Town shirt. | |
