George Hirst on 17:24 - Aug 17 with 774 views | itfcsuth | I think a total shocker is strong. Like everyone else, he did many things well, and things not so - works his absolute bxllocks off.

Szmodics for me. | |

I didn’t expect him to come back so well and full of running after his lengthy absence tbh, pleasantly surprised.

Ran his socks off and pressed excellently, so unlucky with his effort off post, needs a goal at home ASAP.

George Hirst on 17:46 - Aug 17 with 624 views | mellowblue | Worked hard, but was always going to struggle to get change out of a tough central defensive pairing. Did as well as he could, can't ask any more.

Has missed a few chances in pre-season and since the season proper has got going, although unlucky today, think the keeper got a touch to it. Definitely needs a goal to get him up and running.

Szmodics for me too. Twice I thought he was going off injured and just came back for more.

George Hirst on 17:54 - Aug 17 with 574 views | jas0999 | I thought he did okay! By no means a shocker. He also had to create his own chances due to a lack of creativity elsewhere. Also, did great for the first goal in my opinion. Solid performance. Looked knacked late on. But no surprise. Hirst will score goals.

Yes, that knee clutch was a worrying watch. might have been just a grass graze but Worryguts here was thinking it could also be something underlying that.

The other one on one was frustrating. He was clear and it was going to take a red card to stop him but he changed direction which allowed the opportunity for the tackle to be made cleanly. He is at least getting into good positions which is encouraging

George Hirst on 20:44 - Aug 17 with 342 views | Tractor_Boy333 | Yes we need another striker because the last 15-20 minutes Hirst look exhausted but we saw today the way he brings other people into the game in a way we never saw from Delap. But I don’t think he was awful far from it. I also this Szmodics needs to play behind the striker. Looks much more threatening that when he’s on the wing. Also Hirst injury record is not great .

George Hirst on 16:49 - Aug 17 by jasondozzell | Total nonsense. Has been excellent in both games. Gets through so much work so we can play. Have some respect! |
Eh?! Were you watching a different game?! Just today I was referring too, think everyone in the ground could see today he was miles off it.

George Hirst on 20:49 - Aug 17 with 321 views | Nutkins_Return | Just an absolutely symbolic take. Just has got be deliberate to annoy people. Nobody can watch football and get it wrong this badly. Worked tirelessly with limited service and set up the goal and our best chance after. [Post edited 17 Aug 23:03]

Couldn't fault his work rate but some really loose control and had trouble with the ball today. Just didn't come off for him. Was nearly a stunning finish though. [Post edited 17 Aug 23:03]

George Hirst on 20:59 - Aug 17 with 270 views | tcblue | I've always thought he was better even than Delap playing off the shoulder of the last defender. I just wish we had someone who'd put the balls there to chase through

You replied before you read the rest of the thread didn’t you and then probably felt a bit silly because basically nearly everyone has said you are wrong… and you are…. as usual. Absolutely absurd take. ‘Miles off it’!? You obviously like football but I don’t think you really understand the game or at least its nuances. [Post edited 17 Aug 21:34]

As Phil said above, funny how most journos had him down as Man of the Match. In fact, you're the only one here who thinks any different. When you're the only one thinking one thing, it's perhaps an idea to re-evaluate that maybe thought and accept it might not be quite what you made it out to be.
