...plus a replacement for Woolfenden if he does go

Feels like the minimum we need to do - will we get it all done?

Left-back who is happy to come in and share some minutes/be eventual Leif replacement would also be a big plus. One of these days Leif will pick up an injury that he can't shrug off in time for the next game and we'll be in a spot of real bother.

Difficult to be optimistic isn't it? They really need to be 8-figure purchases, both looking at being first choices - I love Hirst, but we have the money and pull to do better. It's going to be chaotic either way...

Possibly but zebras are fascinating animals known for their unique black and white stripe patterns, which help with individual recognition and may repel biting insects. They live in social groups called harems or herds, where strong bonds and communication through vocalizations and body language are vital for protection and social interaction. As herbivores, they primarily graze on grasses but will also eat leaves and stems when needed. Zebras can run at speeds up to 65 km/h (40 mph) to escape predators and typically live around 20-25 years in the wild. Native to Africa, they inhabit savannas, grasslands, and open woodlands, showcasing remarkable agility and social complexity.

If we sign Egeli I don’t think we get another striker, he’ll turn out to be this seasons Delap.

Hirst, Sindre and Akpom who can all cover striker? Won’t need another will we?

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

Two loan spots left makes me think yes on the CM/CF, but maybe it's an older head CM and an unproven CF (just as there seem to be so few of those about).

Wouldn't surprise me to see Egeli up top at some points as he seems to have more of the physical profile than Akpom, McAteer or Szmodics.

Does feel to me as if Egeli will end up as a centre-forward – whoever he ultimately signs for! – but it really would be a gamble not to have a straight-up Hirst competitor.

We have at least 2, possibly 3, who can cover for Leif if needed through injury or just a rest. McKenna has a policy of recruiting players who are versatile enough to operate in more than one role.

Succession planning is something else, but not imo a priority for this window.

A new keeper wouldn’t go amiss either, but looks like we’re kicking that can down the road as well.

Who? Johnson could do it for a game or two. Maybe Young. But if we lose Leif for three months – entirely possible – we'd have as big a problem as if the same happened with Hirst. We have to be covered and we have every resource available to make sure we are.

I don't think not getting a CM and forward is an option tbh.

Egeli might be that forward though, rather than in addition to. Or at least with him, Akpom and Hirst we might think that's sufficient depth there for the next few months. Like most I've taken a fair bit of interest in Egeli in recent weeks and he does cut the figure of a profile I could see working well for us through the middle. Would clearly enhance his opportunities too with less traffic ahead of him and allow him to yin yang with Hirst. Otherwise with McAteer, Clarke (admittedly could be used on the left again), Ogbene and a returning Burns it feels too stacked for me and doesn't make a lot of sense to have invested £55m in 4 players competing for the same spot.

Wouldn't surprise me if Egeli completes the attacking department, a new CM in for sure (McKenna has already alluded to it and it's either Hackney or a n Other), and as you say a Woolfy replacement if we sanction a move.

I agree on paper this is a problem but our training must have altered to reflect this reality with one of Johnson, Young, Greaves, Baggot or Humphries getting time in position. None of them fill me with joy but neither would an injury for Leif plus CMf and Striker are probably most critical. I would cover it with a loan unless the heir to Leif is available now!

Those and Greaves. There are other areas where we have much less cover, and need to be a priority.

I know McKenna ruled out Azon coming in in this window but if Como shift from the loan with an obligation to loan with an option I wonder if that one comes back into play.

One of the more reliable ITX Twitter accounts (who called Button and Young before anyone else) suggests it might be one to watch.

Oh it's definitely around fourth on the priority list but if we could do it I'd feel a lot happier.

Do you think we lose anymore (Woolfy aside)? I'm concerned for CC and can see a scenario where he leaves on loan before DD.

Is there anyone else we think might be a surprising departure? Perhaps J. Clarke?

Egeli, Cook from Bournemouth and maybe make captain, and Ivanovic from Millwall would be my picks.

I wouldn't be comfortable with that trio, there's no one to just battle with Hirst for the number 9 shirt

I'm puzzled about what's going on with Brownhill. Has he joined anyone yet? Him with Egeli, Ivanovic and a left back would be a great window. Though Cook would be an excellent addition too - just cost more.

Still believe Egeli will end up playing the right 10 position if we sign him. Got similar attributes to Omari which I believe was McKenna's favoured position for him if we had the availability

I don't think he has joined anyone yet. His reported signing on fee sounds ridiculous. I think he has been badly advised about how to handle this probably last big move in his careerr.

...to be honest.

I've watched Egeli a couple of times now and he's definitely a right sided attacker, rather than a centre forward.

One of the only negative things you can say about KM is when he tries to shoehorn players into a formation/position that doesn't suit their game.

We really, really need a proper CF to take some weight off Hirst, ideally someone better than him obviously.

I think he's played a blinder tbh, let his contract run down and watch the massive transfer fees slosh about before signing for someone desperate at the 11th hour when he can name his price.

Is he physically up to the challenge of playing ST in the championship?

That Millwall ST seems such an obvious choice for us to go and get, but clearly doesn’t tick certain boxes that we look for.
