Yeah think VAR would be telling the ref to go and have a look and upgrade the card to red. Very obviously kicked his heel into Cajuste's head/shoulder area - might not have meant to actually connect but he did and should be have been properly punished for it. |  |

This. If an official has seen it and issued a card it can't be checked after the game. There needs to be a change on this as if a challenge is dangerous if they make the mistake to not punish it during the game then they should post game so the player still gets the deserved ban. | | | |

I thought the ref only had to stop for head or GK injuries. Thought the rest had to be off the pitch, or just play on. Can't recall the last time I saw an "injured" player treated on the sidelines. |  | | |

Thats what I'd favour.... especially if when it caused an interuption then said players team was penalised in some way..... would mean a fake injury could put his team at a disadvantage, only worth risking if injury is real and should treatment really be required yhen physio could request player removal from the playing area for say a minimum of 5 minutes? Faking head injuries should be treated just as severely as faking blood injuries was in rugby. Somebody could get seriously hurt because a genuine head injury isn't taken seriously because everybody is complacent about them not being genuine
During the game there's not much you can do and the ref has to err on the side of player safety but afterwards bans could be imposed for clear cut cases e.g. Going down clutching head after after being pushed in the chest.
