He’s off his rocker EG. I wish all the Farage supporters would pay some attention to how the same ideology is ripping apart democracy in the US. Trump’s gone rogue and Farage is a huge supporter (kissing his arse just this last week).

Did you see how Farage ended his conference today? An anti-vaxxer on main stage claiming Covid vaccines gave cancer to the Royal Family and then platformed Lucy Connolly (the right-wing Princess Diana) as a political prisoner And then finished off with Andrea Leadsom singing God Save the Queen (not King) They of course claim to want to be a serious party

I didn’t, thankfully. It sounds about as ridiculous as I’d expect. Anti-vax is an obvious grift and unfortunately they’re talking to an audience who will fall for it. ‘Vote Reform, vote for polio’ is quite a slogan.

Read this earlier “ Earlier Sarah Pochin, the MP for Runcorn and Helsby, who has previously called for the burqa to be banned in Britain, told the conference she wanted to arrive on stage in a turquoise version of the Islamic headdress. She said the party’s deputy leader Richard Tice had said no to this” Surprised no-one has blacked up yet

Trump is of course killing other countries citizens this week and his party simply doesn’t care. It’s not a stretch to think this could easily be US citizens on US soil next

What is it with right wingers and anti-vax? Why is there seemingly this correlation? Grifting with 'alternative' treatments perhaps?

For a bit more background, presumably this relates to the US blowing up a boat in the Caribbean that they say was carrying drug smugglers. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Yes, that’s the one. You normally arrest people, not blow them out the water using the Navy

Unfortunately there are more than enough poorly educated people in this country who get all their "news" from Facebook groups to make sure Farage gets in – and that the country is destroyed forever, because we won't have a fair election again after that.

Big problem is that this “Big” problem goes unaddressed through 30 years of politics. Of course right wing scum like Farage will take advantage because no political party has dealt/adressed it. Dress it up how you like but the uneducated/deprived/ and also a lot of very wealthy business men and women need someone to take action and he fills the void for them sadly.

Indeed. This is not just the uneducated, but the very rich. Farage announced yesterday he would abolish the FCA oversight of The City and more stringent banking regulations. He was a banker after all

Trump is a very dangerous simpleton. The consequences of his mouth and his actions are far reaching and potentially as bad as it gets. I spent last week in Munich and did the National Socialist tour and visited his Birchtesgaden mountain retreat near Salzburg. Aside from the sheer horror of what happened, the question is how can a beautiful country like Germany, a place of innovation, philosophy, creativity, art and culture allow Adolf and his henchmen to do what they did? All too easily, sadly. On both tours we got chatting to some Americans and because of the all too obvious parallels, the topic of Trump cropped up. They viewed him as a dangerous nut job. They were afraid for the future not least because amongst their friends back in America they were very much the minority. I fear for the future too - not mine as I’ve been lucky in life and if it ends tomorrow I’ve had a good go at it. It’s what lies ahead for future generations that bothers me. Especially with bits of scum like Trump and Vance making decisions and appeasers like Starmer and Macron grovelling to them. It reminds me of Munich 1938 and Chamberlain. The building where Czechoslovakia was sold out is still there. To touch it was to touch history and the trick of history is to learn and not to repeat it. Nearly 90 years on, mankind should be better than this.

Good post. Unfortunately, all too often the lesson of History is that History will teach us nothing.

Point of order. He was an oil trader not a banker, not that that makes him any less of a danger .

It looked like there was a massive anti-Trump “free DC” rally in DC yesterday, but I can’t find even a mention of it in the media. Am I going mad? You’d have thought tens if not hundreds of thousands of people taking to the streets would be news.

Yep, a lot of it appears ignored/suppressed by the MSM Talking of suppression, Trump is at the Mens US Open final today and the White House have ‘advised’ (ordered) broadcasters to mute any protest against Trump. [Post edited 7 Sep 13:44]

Farage's most admired leaders are Putin and Trump. Unfortunately Farage appeals to a lot of the electorate. No longer sleepwalking as much as marching steadily.
