I think West Ham fans would be furious with this one if any truth in it, he'd be seen as too similar to Potter and a PL failure - they'd want a bigger name

As someone else says, football manager goes to a football match isn't really a story. John Mousinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were at Town's game on Friday.

Think this succinctly sums up how the story is being viewed.

WTF?

I'm not going to lie, if McKenna walks out on us in a few weeks' time, after making a song and dance about having a squad of players that are bought into the season, it would leave a sour, sour taste.

Praying that's just his agent trying to keep his name relevant after a high-scoring win?!

EDIT: Also, WTF are we doing allowing him to visit the Spammers' boardroom *if* true?
[Post edited 15 Sep 12:08]

I think it is fairly obvious he isn't going any where this season. We haven't rebuilt an entire team with KMcK saying it'll take time for him to p!ss off to a mid-lower tier PL club. He's committed for the season here now.

Managers have always taken in games when their club wasn’t playing. I don’t read anything into it. Certainly if he was being tapped up for a job, I agree with others in that it’d be the last place he’d be.

Talk about adding 2+2 and coming up with 5! I am sure there is a perfectly innocent reason he was there. He has a lot of contacts in the game.

Perhaps the rumours came from Rachel Reeves ? That might explain the 2+2 =5 maybe.

I don't believe this so not throwing my toys out but if this is true and it was for talks then I hope he goes. It would be one too many for me. Palace, Brighton and then this.

As I say, I don't believe this. He said he was all in and I may be naive but I believe he's here for the season.

He wouldn’t want to manage in the championship next year anyway

That is the only thing that is worrying me. Posted by some random, i'd laugh it off. Posted by someone with form who at the very least hasn't been able to debunk it and that's a little different.

Still don't think he would go...

I posted it because it hadn't been posted - was always going to end up on here. Not because I think it is happeneing, but more of a news collation

I was once invited into the Town Boardroom during a Town game many moons ago, but they never offered me the managers job.

Admittedly I was only about 12 at the time

True. If they do go down, and I wouldn't expect them to given the way the PL has been for the last few years, you wonder how things might develop. Fans hate the ground and can see a growing feeling of discontent and perhaps also apathy.

Although, to be fair, I did run a story that you were in the running to be the club's new boss.

I always thought it was a bad move to go the Olympic stadium. It was purpose-built for track and field events and doesn't really work well as a football stadium. They'd have been better off staying put or building a new ground. But I seem to recall they got quite a good deal on moving into that stadium.
