Rooney on MOTD on 01:17 - Sep 21 with 3301 views | BlueBadger | He's following the classic Roy Keane great player>crap manager>pundit career path way. Although to be fair, Famous Roy with his scintillating pressers with planning that career a LONG time. [Post edited 21 Sep 1:17]

I've got to that stage too. Also watching MotD on iPlayer so that I can forward through the analysis.

Rooney on MOTD on 12:46 - Sep 21 with 2168 views | stonojnr | I wouldnt mind so much but the deal he has means they could end paying him £800,000 for this. and nobody watches Motd for Wayne Rooneys punditry, no one watches for She-Ras either another on silly money, people just want highlights and goals with maybe just a little bit of intro/context to the game & result. does no one at the BBC ever think you know what lets ditch the pundits, save alot of money we could spend elsewhere. they are meant to be a public service broadcaster, not a retirement home for ex footballers who cant string a sentence together.
Rooney on MOTD on 12:48 - Sep 21 with 2162 views | Swansea_Blue | I still can’t understand why so many people in the game and fans said he was an excellent communicator as a manager. I’ve seen little evidence for it, but granted I’ve never sat in one of his team talks/meetings.

He's far far worse than Keane. Rooney can't string a sentence together, nevermind provide insight.

I note that increasingly the BBC have on, instead of an ex footballer, an expert. I think Nikki i saw Nikki Bandini involved with the Champions League highlights and she added very insightful knowledge based on deep work and writing around the teams and individuals playing, not just memories and banter that ex pros usually offer.

The banter and camaraderie between three brilliant strikers was worth watching on its own. It’s all gone sadly down hill since.

Isn't there a podcast too? My first thought on hearing about it was 'why on earth would anyone listen to that?' If they're going to have a pro player on, then their remit should be to give us an interesting professional insight into what we're watching, not describe what we've just seen as though we're all five years old.

Oh, I couldn't hate the banter any more. Every time a player now gets a record, or makes a mistake, or anything happens, it had to be turned into what one of those did thirty years ago and then tired and boring jokes between them. This doesn't really happen in any other discipline and it's kind of weird.
