Farage doing his Trump tribute act again - "They're eating the swans.." 13:02 - Sep 24 with 4926 views | ElderGrizzly | "Royal Parks say no evidence to back Nigel Farage’s claim that migrants are eating their swans" - Yes, someone had to come out and refute this. He claimed this morning on LBC immigrants are catching, killing and eating swans in Royal Parks. "If I said to you that swans were being eaten in royal parks and carps were being taken out of ponds and eaten in this country from people with different cultures. Would you agree that is happening?" Asked who was doing this, Farage said “people who come from countries where it’s quite acceptable to do so”. Asked if he meant eastern Europeans, he replied: “So I believe.” [Post edited 24 Sep 13:03]

Take: one woodcock, place inside a pigeon, place pigeon inside a partridge, partridge inside pheasant, inside a chicken, mallard duck, goose and finally, a swan. Roast for many hours, then re-dress in swan plumage. To really impress, at this stage gild the feathers with gold. Serves approximately 30 people. Reputedly seen occasionaly at medieval feasts.

Farage doing his Trump tribute act again - "They're eating the swans.." on 14:04 - Sep 24 by DJR | The interesting thing I have seen with Farage recently is that when he is probed, he gets rather tetchy and his "bonhomie" disappears: the Beth Rigby interview springs to mind. Of course, that ain't going to happen when Nick Ferrari is interviewing. [Post edited 24 Sep 14:06]

He’s always been like that, but for some reason most interviewers give him an easy ride. The amount of coverage the BBC give him is insane. They may as well be the official broadcaster of Reform.

It was utter idiocy from start to finish. In normal times interviews like that would mark the end of a politician's career, but we don't live in normal times. |

Farage doing his Trump tribute act again - "They're eating the swans.." on 16:07 - Sep 24 by Churchman | The man is a chancer and a windbag. But with simple messages based on stoking fear, he is making inroads into the ‘traditional’ parties’ vote. Why, since his lies and policies, if you can call them that, do not stand scrutiny? It’s simply because successive governments since Blair’s and including Starmer’s have supported or are perceived to have supported unlimited immigration. It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not, whether it’s more complex, difficult etc, Farage like Trump preach simple answers to what they present as simple problems. However misplaced that is, people can understand that. It’s how Trump got in. The govt can ignore the tories, who are finished, but not Reform. Labour needs to take this seriously if they (and in turn the people) are not to pay heavily at the next election. |
And they need to do it by exposing this man’s policies first what they are - half-baked nonsense - instead of trying to mimic them. But I don’t see that happening and mainstream media seem to lap him and his party up. It’s scary the way these views are being accepted when any journalist with a semblance of intelligence should be able to expose him and his party for the idiots they are. But this isn’t happening and I find this the most worrying aspect of it all.

Wouldn't be surprised if we see the right wing vote split 3 ways by the time of the next election (Conservative, Reform, Advance UK) based on Reform no longer getting Musk's X endorsement; doubt very much whether they could form a coalition.

They're both either psychopaths who really don't care, or get a kick out of seeing how many "emperor's new clothes" they can sell to the feeble minded. Or they are genuinely completely unaware of the damage they are doing, which is more worrying that the first scenario.

I mentioned yesterday I think he’s a psychopath and I mean that. He ticks every box in the ‘I’ve just Googled what the psychopath traits are’ test: - lack of empathy or remorse - superficial charm - inability to form genuine human connections/bonds - a compulsive liar - fairly calm and slow to anger (stunted or lacking emotions generally) There are a number of traits below shared with sociopaths, but I think he lacks the emotional mood swings characteristic of sociopaths: - disregard for rules and social norms - inability to feel guilt - engagement in criminal behaviour Or, to summarise, he’s a c***.

I think we can forget the tories. Finished. The remains of their supporters and anyone with a brain cell will dribble away leaving a rump of crusty hasbeens moaning about the Good old days and the quality of the Port.. The liberals have little chance of anything much, especially led by a bloke who always looks like he’s struggling with trapped wind. AdvanceUK? I’ll have to read up on them, but I genuinely think it’s Starmer (or his replacement) v Farage

And therein lies the danger, it's very difficult to argue against because it's the sentiment rather than the truth that matters. How do you argue against that? Make bold, brash, inflammatory statements that whip people in to a frenzy, job done. It's out there then, by the time people have pointed out it's nonsense it's too late. Even if it's not true it could be true, and if it could be true the elites should have done something about it, which they haven't, so you should be furious.

You'd need someone to point out that scientists being wrong is how science works. Scientists trying to prove other scientists wrong is how we gain new knowledge and refine existing ideas. And it is very, very rare that they are wrong about the big ideas, whether that's evolution, climate change, vaccines, etc. You could only point to relativity as being the major one in modern times. What you would need is someone brave enough to stand up to that argument and really dig into what they are saying and how ridiculous the statement is, because it boils down to "some scientists are wrong, therefore all science is wrong", which is very obviously nonsense. It's the same way they go about climate change denial, and yet nobody really digs into them and asks them to explain what they think is going on.
