Very nice.
All illegal of course. You aren't allowed to fly drones over people or roads (in case they fail).
I'm pretty sure the club wouldn't be organising this if it were illegal.
ChatGPT says;
"The rules for flying drones over people or roads depend on the weight/category of the drone, where you’re flying, and the type of operation (recreational vs. commercial).
General rule: You must not fly over people in a way that could endanger them.
Open Category (most recreational and light drones):
Subcategory A1 (drones <250 g):
You may fly over people, but not over crowds.
You should minimise time spent flying over anyone.
Subcategory A2 (250 g–2 kg):
You must not fly over uninvolved people and should keep a horizontal distance of at least 50 m (or 30 m if using low-speed mode with training).
Subcategory A3 (larger drones or less controlled environments):
You must keep 150 m away from residential, commercial, or industrial areas and avoid flying near people entirely."
Some of that seems a bit 'open to interpretation', and looking at the actual footage I'd suggest this footage falls on the just about acceptable side. But as I said at the start, the club would be too savy and risk averse to be breaking the law here.

I have a drone, and have had to complete mandatory training to allow me to legally fly it. And pay some money.
The rules are complicated, and keep changing but my understanding is that you can’t do this.
I’m sure most people with drones don’t bother with any of the training. They are unlikely to check on you unless you do something really daft like fly near an airport

I did see the drone at the game, when it went across the front of the North stand.
The drone really was very small, obviously latest technology, but I was surprised, how small it was.

This is a professional video marketing company that the club have hired to aquire footage, not some joker with his first drone. They aren't going to be doing anything illegal which puts either them or the club at risk, and they will know the minutiae of the latest rules to avoid falling foul of the law or being sued (either by a member of the public or the club, for putting them in that position).

My nephew has the full license from the CAA which cost an eye watering amount of money and allows him to fly commercially in areas he otherwise wouldn't be able to.
He also has to file a flight plan and risk assessment before the flight.
No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

When i saw it fly over as the players came out I was amazed how stable it was given how windy it was Sunday. I'd have liked to seen the video of the bit where the confetti type explosion happened after a bit of gap in the pyrotechnics. Think they missed that short section out. Pretty sure the drone was a bit too close for comfort at that point

I thought the suites looked absolutely first class as did the pitch. I think that’s the closest I’ll ever get to the suites! My wife thinks I’m mad but I’ve been quite emotional since Sunday and here is a video of Portman Road.

I see nothing that is clearly illegal.
The shots shown involving crowds appear to be at a distance and angle that would NOT place them over a crowd. The distance and zoom factor of the lens needs to be taken into account, and I'm fairly confident looking at these, that the drone position involving crowd shots would have had the drone hovering / flying in a position that was not only away from the crowds, but by some considerable distance.
There is a single shot that looks to be vertically above a line of people, but under the regulations, this does not count as a 'crowd', and the people in the shot could easily disperse (as defined in the regulations). The drone appears to be a UK0/1 class device (it's very small), and shots involving people (not crowds) are therefore permitted for this type of shot.
These guys clearly know what they are doing.

Great flying with the headset/goggle things on, from just a thumb controller! Didn't know the end suites were such well appointed dining rooms. Dressing room looks different to my tours there. Wheres the kicking block gone, thats what I'd like to know!
