Marvellous stuff. I was ready to mock him after reading this bit but reading further down he is very honest and complimentary:

'In many ways, losing that 16-year record, which by the end was a curse rather than a trophy, is the least of our problems.'

Truly impaired.

Reading that piece, I actually do feel sorry for them. Doubly so when signposted towards this sneering riposte from Jake Humphrey, no doubt at the club's behest:

They can lob that in their, by comparison, very well stocked Curse Cabinet.

After laughing at the grief over last Sunday and what it meant, I didn’t laugh at the rest of what is a very well written post.

No club should take its supporters for granted, whether it’s them, Sheffield Wednesday or dementor Evans here.

People who sit in the seats may not bring in the revenue of the ‘corporates’, sponsors or tv, but without them, there is no club. No club = no game, no anything. Take them for granted at your peril.

It is something all owners, CEOs should remember, including ours.

Very true,
I was disappointed at the move of seats to create room for away fans but there were very few options and had to done quick,
really pissed at the removal of a possible dividend and still disappointed at the Club's attitude
But they pale into insignificance compared to moving a whole end to allow corporate facilities expansion, that really stinks,
but as its them it's funny.

I hope and trust our owners would never do anything so stupid

I don't. Had they been 6 points clear at the top of the league and just beaten us 3-0 you wouldn't here a peep.

The arrogance of their support they had between 2010 - Present was really something else. Too stupid to realise why we "only" had 16,000 in the ground whilst Evans did everything to abuse the club. They're now starting to realise why.

And they're now showing they're like every single football club in the land, fans will stay away when unhappy.

Two reflections from that….

- On a personal level it’s hard not to feel for their fans a bit. We’ve been there with ignorant and out of touch owners, and it’s not a good place to be. The sustain shown towards seat moves and losing memories of friends, family and loved ones is never nice, so you can see it’s genuinely hurting the author alongside the anger. Yeah we obviously hate that lot and always will, but all fans ever want is effort, respect and honesty which they aren’t getting.

- Secondly, in terms of their fate this season and for the next few… I might actually rather see them rot in the jail that is 14th - 20th place in the championship like we did for so many years. If they go down to league one, then chances are it’ll give them some momentum to come back up with and we don’t need that.

Anyway, as a club then screw em. As one human to another, hold on in there.

Let's face it, to overcome their, ahem, "record", we need stay undefeated against them until 2042. That's what I'd defiantly be doing. The fact they're not, as far as I can see, indicates they anticipate a downward spiral.

The article is well written, rounded and sensible, it's stuff like this (& Loft for Words) that give a more long term wholesome non-Ipswich intake, though for now please forgive me for enjoying their collective defeatism. I wish I could spell schadenfreude...

Nah, fook em. Did they feel sorry for us when we had Evans tying a hand behind our back? Of course not, they just enjoyed the easy victories.

I hope they have ten years of languishing in lower mid table. 2-3 in League one as well. No mercy.

It didn’t affect me but I got the impression here it was not so much what the club had to do but the way they went about it. I get the time element and how few choices they had but their engagement with those displaced was clearly not good enough. I hope they learned from it.

Norwich? Agreed, it’s different to shunting out a whole end for corporate facilities. It might bring in more short term money but at what cost?

Edit: from a personal perspective I’ve found our club very helpful in the last couple of years on odd things like the Memorial game and the wall and moving my seat last summer.

From a PR perspective, why would you make an announcement which they would have known was going to be taken badly by those affected by the move in the midst of a bad run and a couple of days before what seemed probable and eventually was a defeat to their local rivals? Was always going to blow up in their faces. You wait until there's been a bit of an upturn, so as not to create the sort of hyperbolic furore stoked by sites like the one in the OP.

Well, there is that, I suppose! But even a single win would take the heat off somewhat rather than putting out what's inevitably a bad news story when people are already moaning and likely to be moaning evening more in a couple of days.

Just wait until they get their owner/chief exec presenting a 5 point plan that they had written on the back of a fag packet, like we had with Evans. That honestly felt like one of the lowest points for me, as it confirmed just how little effort was being put into running the club, just a load of cliched football soundbites with absolutely zero detail of how any of it would be achieved.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Me too. It was pathetic. That Evans had the brass neck to agree to that rubbish being sent out (I doubt he had anything to do with scribbling it) showed just how much contempt he had for the supporters. Yet mugs like me out of habit and hope still rolled up season after season to watch the club die.

I think twenty years in League One or lower would be good for Norwich supporters’ soul. But even I don’t wish an Evans and his witless stooges upon them - or an oddball like the owner at Sheffield Wednesday come to that

Sometimes you have to break a few Canary eggs to make an omelette.

Trouble is, there ain't no omelette. They've just broken some eggs. And it turns out, fans really like eggs.

Or to put it in clearer terms, what actual benefit is there from these plans? What problem does it solve? The fanzone looks tiny and rubbish. There's no increase in capacity. There's no problem with where away fans are currently located. Odd.

Although the reverse argument is, if you're trying to bury bad news, it's sometimes a ploy to throw it in when there's something more unpleasant happening on the horizon (like a derby defeat with Nunez rubbing it in!) Get it all out of the way at once...

So they’ve now got owners with the money and vision to fund a really basic looking fan zone? Market zone looks more apt. Not a patch on what we have at PR (which isn’t given the credit it is due when you compare to the likes of this vision).

Wonder how often the pompous Jake Humphreys will get himself down there to watch on the big screen?

During covid, when we were languishing in Div 1 under Evans and the Budgies were in the EPL I recieved an email from one of them. It had two yellow chevrons and a tag line of "Always keep 2 divisions apart."

I have kept that email. If the Lord wills it will be sent back like a boomerang from whence it came.

Do I have sympathy for them ? NO.
