I’m not surprised it’s hardworking for him. Hutchinson - wrong club, poor choice though his agent and bank manager won’t agree.

Hutch is already onto his 3rd manager, it doesn't seem ideal that he seems to have been signed by Forest's men behind the manager and not the manager originally Dyche likes width and balls into the box however which may well suit him [Post edited 9 Nov 16:00]

Maybe, but what little I’ve seen of him he looks lost. His career may have stalled until he gets settled at a Fulham, Palace or a Brentford which is where he should have gone in the first place. Delap? He’ll be fine. No, I don’t want to see either return. I’m a a great believer in, bar John Wark, never go back. We move on. Well, we certainly have in the last week. 8 days ago the promise of 7 points from the week and 9-2 goals? I’d have bitten your arm off. [Post edited 9 Nov 0:04]

| Delap and Hutchinson on 00:03 - Nov 9 with 3128 views | Tractor_Boy333 | I think both players chose the wrong clubs. The 2 clubs I thought Delap should have avoided were Chelsea or Man Utd. But injuries haven’t helped him. Omari was very poorly advised I always felt his career would be better served by staying with us for another season. But his bank balance wouldn’t have been as healthy. I could see him being loaned out in January probably to an a championship club. but don’t see either player back at Town. Omari burnt his bridges with the way he behaved and Delap would probably have moved on even if we had stayed up and really only saw Town as a stepping stone for bigger and better things. Neither player seems to have progressed but both still young and plenty of time for them to make a positive impression. | | | |

Omari was advised to join a club with a known schism between manager and footballing director. And was clearly not the preferred right sided player. What is worrying is both Ange and Dyche also didnt/dont see him a starter. But Delap for me also made a club choice error.. Everton wanted him, there were players brought in who could supply him, and he would have been the main man, with little to no competition.

I'm actually starting to wonder if Warky has played his last game for us. Probably just me being silly though. He'll be back to train with us in January, which will turn into another three year contract, I guess.

I think Delap should have gone to Newcastle. He'd have been loved by their fans, and he'd be under a very good manager. Chelsea probably the worst decision/ choice he could have made given that clubs trawling of plsyers only to sell or loan out. Which is what I'm expecting to happen to him tbh. Omari " poorly advised",100%. But he has a brain in his head doesnt he? He was really one of my favourite players, but the way he went about things, like a few others in the past, dont leave me with any feelings of sympathy for his or others current sutuations. There's minimal loyalty in the game these days and it is all about the money, it seems!

Being previously coached by Enzo Maresca at Manchester City may have played a part in Delap’s decision to join Chelsea.

| Delap and Hutchinson on 08:19 - Nov 9 with 2006 views | EdwardStone | I believe that both should have stayed with us. They had been fully McKennaised and could have been instrumental in getting us up this season and absolute fans favourites as we become an established Prem club. It must be very difficult for KMcK to construct a Prem-ready squad by the end of this season when 2 of your Prem-ready players decide to bail out of the project. I fully understand why Liam and Omari might have felt that moving was a good idea in terms of career path, but I think their reasoning was misguided. Look at Leif..... perhaps not quite the same skill level of the runaways, but his steadfast loyality is exemplary. LD and OH could have both been playing Prem football with us next season as settled stars and fans favourites.... | | | |
| Delap and Hutchinson on 08:22 - Nov 9 with 1964 views | football | Delap will get there but a massive step up for him. he had pretty limited exposure at a good level so not a surprise in the least. I do think in hindsight a smaller club would have been better for him but wish him well. Hutchinson on the other hand.....He wasn't great for us a lot of the time - very lightweight and incredibly selfish | | | |
| Delap and Hutchinson on 08:46 - Nov 9 with 1850 views | Mullet | Delap's leg went ping and he's only just come back. Omari was a victim of politics and greed at a basket case of a club. I think it reflects more on the league above than them as players per se. | |

Delap was outstanding in a relegated Premier League team last season. He was spoken about as the long term successor to Harry Kane and was an absolute steal with his relegation clause. So it was inevitable that a top 5 club would take him with little financial risk. I dint think Omari did enough last season to earn a move back to the Premier League. I think it was his performance in the Under 21 Euro’s that got him his move. Other than Brentford putting in a bid that didn’t match his release clause Forest were the only other interested party. And that seemed agent driven. He desperately needs a Championship loan in January.

Judging Delap is unfair. As you say, he’s been injured. Far too early to say. Taking a pop at his decision is, well, just taking a pop… Hindsight is always a great thing. Forest were great last year: emotions aside, it felt like a reasonable move for Omari at the time. Clearly, it hasn’t been though! [Post edited 9 Nov 8:54]

He was remarkable wasn’t he. What a great career. I was lucky to witness so much of it, including his debut. 670 appearances, 179 goals. His goalscoring from midfield 1979-1984 was remarkable scoring at a rate of not far short of once every two games. ‘He’s not up to much’ said my dad as Allan Clarke trampled on him on his debut. ‘Too small, can’t pass, we won’t be seeing him again’. I agreed and prayed for the return of Beattie, who he replaced that evening. It’s good to be so wrong sometimes!

It's a lovely notion, but not one based on realism unfortuantely. Neither player was ever going to stay with prem offers on the table, they were always going to go, it's just that they both made poor choices. As for Leif, the truth is he didn't have any serious suitors from the EPL, if he did, he would have gone also. It's not steadfast loyalty i'm afraid, it is simply a player taking the best option available, which for Leif is currently us.

Lol :) That being said, I do think Leif genuinely loves being here and has built up an affinity for the club. Money talks though.

He does! Good for him. An assist and a penalty won. The new manager maybe a good thing for him. It’d be nice to be proved wrong yet again as it’s in our interests that he does do well after with sell ons and add ons.

I mean I have no idea why anyone is judging him so early. Well in part because of I'll feeling on how he moved. As you say today is probably a catalyst for him. Has had to bide his time. I think he has a chance now to start a game very soon and nIl down a place. He's a top player and I think he'll be good for them.
