Exactly. You can't polish a turd and their squad is utter shoite. They'll have to sell their best player to strengthen in January too. They're going nowhere.

That's my general opinion with very little knowledge of him to back that up

He has a fairly good win percentage albeit at clubs where that is the basic requirement of managing them

He has reasonable pedigree but a hell of a job to do, at a club where the last manager basically said the structure behind him will make it difficult for anyone to succeed

On the face of it, they have a squad good enough to stay up, any competent manager should be able to keep them in the Championship, the bigger question is how they kick on without the boost of parachute payments in seasons to come. Each season gets harder, the longer you remain out of the Premier League.

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Probably tactically astute without being overly dynamic. Think of all the names linked he's the best of them. They'll stay up. Does he have the personality to carry a championship clin forward? Think hes a safe pair of hands but may ultimately struggle with the grind of the championship, mid table under him is my guess for as long as he's there

Time isn't always very forgiving, we appointed several managers under Evans who had track records of some success and things soon fell apart quickly

McCarthy was the only manager under Evans who had any level of success and then he was never really backed to kick us on

You do hope that the Norwich hierachy remain an inhibitor rather than a booster and they get 10+ years of suffering whilst we enjoy all the goodies Gamechanger keep delivering

interesting they make his position very clear as a head coach rather than manager

his issues at rangers included poor recruitment team falling out with them, and nodge fans been questionning that of nodge's own recruitment the past few seasons since knapper went in, so it'll be interesting watch

Most of his problems at Rangers, was the fact Rangers was a basket case.
Owners had f**ked up on the stand redevelopment and the delays meant they had to play home games at Hampden. Then the CEO jumped, quickly followed by the Chairman.

Im not convinced he'll be a success at Norwich, but most of his issues at Rangers were mostly down to the cr@p owners.

He clearly enjoys pain, having pipped for Norwich

That said, you'd be forgiven for thinking they're on the verge of financial collapse the way their fans are going on. In reality they're still a stable club with reasonable infrastructure, they have simply recruited poorly and had no real blueprint for what they're looking to achieve, chopping and changing managers with regularity etc

A good manager would stabilise them and get them moving up again

The football people in the UK for Norwich are not exactly thriving. They sacked JHT after he said he didn’t think the aim was playoffs in his first year, which conflicted with what the executives were saying. How were they not in the same page? All that after giving him a lot of money to spend.

I think they’re throwing darts at this point with probably the Milwaukee guy more involved with the contracts to get them over the line. He obviously asked for a long term deal, so if it goes wrong he will have a nice wad of cash to walk away with.

I reckon Gary O’Neil was their first choice.

This chap has a decent enough CV in lower European leagues but not sure Norwich really know what they’re doing and he will be working with a lot of players that two coaches haven’t got a tune from.

Might work but I have my doubts. If he just keeps them up I guess he has a chance to rebuild a bit as the owner has very deep pockets and they’re usually in good enough PSR shape.

For him it's a stepping stone into the English game, probably worth the roll of the dice from his point of view

Norwich favour the more European model where the manager is more of a coach rather than the manager per se, it's clearly going wrong the background a little bit. What do you really expect when your sporting director was Arsenal's loan manager?
