Barmy to me that people are putting Southampton top or 2nd in these, 17 off top and 11 off of 2nd, that will require some swing.

Coventry
Boro
Town
Saints
Sheff U
Hull

I heart says we’ll be 2nd, but my head can’t quite accept it’s OK to be that positive!

They seem a different animal under the manager. Funds to use in jan. They should just like us be fighting for top two

Jan for me is going to be a huge transfer window.

Unless we get this spot on I really can’t see top 2

2 wins in the last 5, including failing to beat norwich and against 10 men for 45 minutes suggests a very similar animal.

they'll need to step up a couple more gears to be in the picture.

Take a look at their form, they are absolutely flying since getting rid of Will Still. They’ve got parachute money to spend along with a Promotion on their CV Two seasons ago. Right them off at your peril.

since sacking still, soton have performed worse than cov, have got a grand total of one more point than us and 2 more than boro.

sure they'll be in the playoffs, but a lot of traffic between them and top spot

Hackers - I know I only put us down as getting 3rd, but really, we are only 5 behind Boro, and that after having a really sluggish start. So unless we're going to say that the top two can't b caught (which would be a bit daft at this point of the season) then we've probably got as good a chance as any to catch them.

get ourselves a good window (ie, sign a decent striker) then we really should be able to get that 2nd auto spot.

Saints are only 6 points behind us, we are only 5 points from Boro in Second.
Do you not think Southampton can make up 11 Points in effectively 5 months worth of football?
I’d be very confident following the run of form if I was a Saints fan.

their run of form is 2 points better than boro over 9 games, they'd need 45 games to catch them at that rate!

plus they'd have to overhaul the other 8 teams in the way... they'd need to get very much better than they've been since still left

Absolutely we are only 5 points behind second but unless we discover some consistency as much I want second I really can’t see it

Interesting to see how many have gone for Town as one of the top two and yet there seems so much negativity as soon as we aren't winning in a game.

It's going to be tight but I will go with:

Coventry
Town
Boro
Hull
(I can actually see it becoming a breakaway with a four-way fight like a couple of years ago and it finishing in pretty much any order from 3 of them - Coventry, us and Boro)
Southampton
Bristol City

I can see any of several taking those last two places.

Not entirely a wild stab, looked at medium-term form as well. Surprised that people are not rating Hull's chances.

Derby - Cant see them being consistent enough
Blades - Left themselves too much to do with their terrible start.

I’m going for:

Cov
Boro
Town
Saints
Preston
Brizzle

Forgot to reply to this.

1 - Coventry
2 - Ipswich
3 - Middlesborough
4 - Hull
5 - Watford
6 - Bristol City

Southampton had their new manager bounce, but look fairly average again now, Sheffield Utd are too far back to really challenge the top 6 unless they can get a lot more consistent - they need title winning form over the rest of the season to hit 75 points.
