When they signed him I saw South American journalists saying him and Estevao were the two brightest talents in South American football. He is VERY highly rated - albeit I think there may be some attitude issues. This has the potential to be a real needle mover. |
McKenna is pretty tight with Rosenior who obviously has been at Strasbourg with Paez so I would think we've managed to get a reliable character reference. |  | | |

When we got promoted we built up a points buffer, currently we do not have and therefore don't have the luxury to take on young and possibly talented players. Ben Johnson is strong and could help. Ok use Paez in the Academy but not first team. We need experienced football warhorses. | |

I think its about balance. Without sounding too much like Alan Hansen you don't want a team of 18 year old wet behind the ear kids. The step up from academy football to Championship is absolutely massive in so many respects, not least physically and mentally. Hutchinson got up to speed pretty quickly to be fair to him, but even in his case it took a few months to find his feet, and in a few months the season is pretty much over, so I do think there's some merit in what you say.
There's room for a wild card or 2 though, sprinkle a bit of X factor and unpredictability. It doesn't negate the need for a battle hardened and experienced Tom Cairney type as well though. | | | |

Fair point, he's got more senior experience than Omari did and has probably had to 'grow up' a bit faster. I think the point still remains though, he'll be very raw. I'd sign him in a heartbeat though, we need a balance and I don't think bringing him in would tip that. McAteer, Szmodics, Burns, Akpom, Nunez aren't kids any more, they're all senior players. Even Clarke has a lot of senior football under his belt, and Philogene increasingly so. Azon, Egeli, Paez bringing a bit of youth and exuberance isn't too much. | | | |
