I really like him, gets in great positions in the attacking third, he's got a lovely touch. He's had some shocking luck and could easily have 4 or 5 goals. He's only 22 so I think he's doing OK, he's not shoved off the ball easily either.

He was excellent tonight. Worked hard, led the line well, got an assist, and if not for a one in a million save he'd have got himself a goal. Feels like everything is starting to come together at the moment.
Not the speediest, but enormous amounts of energy. At one point he was involved in defending on the edge of our box, then ran the entire length of the pitch to challenge their 'keeper. Doesn't give up, either.

He did play very well last night. But hes still not clinical enough and personally I don’t think it’s down to luck, because it’s simply happens too often. I’m in 2 minds about last nights “miss”. It was a great save and he didn’t have much time to think about the finish, but does a more clinical striker not give the keeper a sniff? Not sure tbh.
I still think we need another option this month although arguably now there might be more pressing positions such as cover for Nunez

He's had some poor finishing but also been on the receiving end of some top-notch goalkeeping on more than one occasion. Hopefully that will even itself out over the remainder of the season.
He gets off more per 90 and more on target than anyone else in the squad.

He had his back to goal, hit it first time, struck it sweetly and hit the target.
His foot connected as perfectly with the ball as Vitek's hand did.
It was just a perfect save.
It's possible that had he shanked it, or scuffed it, or missed it and it bounced up and hit his knee, that it would have bobbled in, of course, but you can't in any way say he hit it first time other than absolutely perfectly.
I still say we should bring back Franny Jeffers as finishing coach for one on ones, though. He got Macaulay Bonne scoring with Kane-like frequency for half a season. That's Macauley Bonne who is now playing tier Seven football only a handful of seasons later.
Imagine what he could do with El Tiburon!

Wins far more balls then you reasonably think he should due to his diminutive size; the 2nd goal was a case in point.
If he had any luck he would have scored a decent number of goals - the save from their keeper to deny him was reflective of much of his time here so far.
Definitely would stick with him over Hirst, think he offered far more last night

Last nights ‘miss’? He did nothing whatsoever wrong. In a split second he walloped it on target. The keeper made an astonishing save and sometimes you have to give the other guy credit.
Axon is young, brave, hard working and immensely talented. He’s a good player that is improving every time I see him play. He will get goals alright.

Think that's incredibly harsh. He reacted quickly and made good contact, couldn't really have done much more. The keeper pulled off the kind of save you probably won't see again all season. Finishing clearly isn't his main strength but he's been a bit unlucky to have hit the inside of the post twice and to be on the wrong end of a wonder save last night.

Not to mention being wiped out for a clear penalty on Saturday as well.
The chap seems to have the worst luck possible within the penalty area.
