Matusiwa 21:47 - Jan 20 with 2449 viewsBseaBlue

Just completely dominating midfield in every game and poignant that he does it again tonight with the return of Morsy.

It's scary that he looks like he is getting better and better too. He hardly misplaced a pass all night (if any).

Give hin the player of the year award now and have it done with!

Id like to see some of the passing he shows on his highlight footages.

Apart from that. Hes amazing.

He's just in the right place over and over again. Wins it, gets it under control, passes to a teammate. Makes it look easy.

Apparently according to the guy behind me he’s barely a championship player and should probably be playing in league one. It honestly amazes me how bizarre some of our supporters are, he’s an incredible player and will be snapped up by a premier league team if we don’t go up this season

The biggest compliment you can give him is probably that he’s seamlessly replaced Morsy. The Egyptian King leaving was always a ‘when’ not ‘if’ as it is for all players at every club, and the succession plan might not have worked out this well. He’s probably better out of possession, frightening the amount of times he turns possession over. I do think he could be a bit more tidy in possession at times but if he had it all he’s probably not in the championship is he?

Vital cog for us.

Who made the suicide pass which deflected to Riis was it who then spectacualrly wasted it, I assume Kipre rather than Matusiwa?

I'm not arguing with your overall assessment btw, he is one of our key signings this season

I think if he's more tidy in possession and with a killer through ball or two thrown in he's a top half Premier League player. Hopefully that will be proven next season, after some more KMc coaching!

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

The only thing he hasn't got in the locker is the Morsy drop of the shoulder and drive. I do miss that.

But other than that i think he's an upgrade. Considering the number of tackles he makes he doesn't give away many fouls either.

He has got it. Weve seen it a few times. But its very rare. I think he knows his job is get the ball keep it simple get back into position.

I sh!t you not, a bloke behind me tonight had a moan at McAteer because HE got fouled. Foul in the middle of the park, got knocked off his feet and the he was moaning that he should’ve stayed on his feet.

Yeah it's a fair point. He doesn't need to when he has someone like Cajuste next to him who can break lines like he does, and forward players like Philogene and Clarke who can score goals out of nothing. We didn't have that in 23/24.

Yes it was Kipre.

Credit to Matusiwa on the card front too, it will come of course, but he's now gone several games without getting booked, like Morsy did when he was on 9 for a while.

He's been incredible.

Did anyone listen to the Blackburn commentary when we played them. They didn't rate Matusiwa at all. Granted he wasn't at his absolute best in that game but i think it was one of the worst takes of a player that i've heard from a commentary team in a long time. Utterly clueless

Azor the Great. A remarkably good find from the recruitment team, if you criticise some of the recruitment, you must be equally as loud with praise for the positives, and at £8m he is absolutely outstanding at what he does within the team.

Have to say as well, Jens Cajuste has gone up a level in recent weeks, just gliding and cruising past players - an absolute pleasure to watch him operate.

Phenomenal pair, with Taylor in the mix aswell - stacked with real quality in that trio.
